Knitting and Crochet Review 2014

This is probably the prettiest thing I made in 2014.  The pattern is labeled for experienced knitters... I learned several new things and was very happy with the shawl. Beautiful design:

Green the Whole Year Round by Anna Yamamoto

And, then there was the delve into the world of crochet.... Through MULTIPLE baskets....

Chunky Crocheted Basket by Elizabeth Trantham.

If I'm perfectly honest, my fling with crochet has been a little humbling...

I had turned my knitterly nose up at crochet pretty much that same way I had the garter stitch (another humbling experience)...

They seemed too remedial... too old fashioned... not quite stylish and modern (coming from someone who loves all things old)...

Whatever you want to call it, I am positive some of you other knitters know exactly what I'm saying...

Well, I developed an all out love affair for the simple garter stitch a couple of years ago...

Victory Wrap by Erika Flory

And, I'm pretty sure my fling has grown into a lasting love of crochet....

Viking Baby Hat by Kat Kennedy

But, like my appreciation of the simple garter stitch will never outshine my love of a little lace...

Echo Beach by Kieran Foley

My new found love of crochet will never replace my love of knitting....

Hitofude Cardigan by Hiroko Fukatsu

A little knitting AND crochet fun... another basket and a white pumpkin...

Big Pumpkin

My uniform of this fall and winter!!  The Big Box.  Ha!

Espenson by Cirilia Rose

I made a passel of these pillows, too... Even one that never got photographed... They were so much FUN to do!

Blooming Flower Cushion by Lucy of Attic 24

Then, of course there was the blanket that started it all...

Mixed Stripey Blanket by Julie Harrison

And, I couldn't resist a little Hippy Love (and used some stash yarn!!  Yea!) Only took 2 days to make! Fast and fun.

Sedona Vest by Taylor Tengelson

Another stash buster... cast on 62 stitches and kept on going with double crochet through two skeins of Noro Silk Garden Sock.  Love it.

Easy as Pie... me  ;)

My last basket of the year... done with so much love...

One more Flower Cushion....

And, one more Big Box... a second Espenson.  Can I say I have worn the tail off these two!!

Well, I think that wraps it.  2014 wasn't as productive as some other years... but, there was a lot of Basket Therapy happening in The Lost Year!  Ha!

Dear Tanna, Your projects are so pretty and well done. I love the big box look and would also wear them each day. You look so nice in them and stylish too.
It is so cold here that I would wear them all day long!
Stay well and happy. Blessings, Catherine xoxo

So many fabulous knitted and crocheted things!!! A great year of crafting. I am glad that you love crochet - 'cause apart from anything else I cannot knit!! - but I can see why you love knitting so much, especially when you are able to make such wonderful things!! xx

Hi Tanna, I am so lucky to have so many very creative and talented blog friends. Since I have NO talents when it comes to stitching or crocheting --or anything like that ---I just admire what my friends do. Your work is fantastic---all of it.. WOW!!!! I feel privileged to know you.
Hugs,
Betsy

Such a treat to see the 2014 Knit and Crochet review.
Beautiful pieces. I love the varied crochet baskets!

I admired each piece in their original post and enjoyed seeing them even more in the review....you are so talented! I learned to crochet before I learned to knit and alwyas go back to it for edging, or afghans, but you remind me how pretty it can be. The thing you encourage me to do most is wear my knits. I don't seem to have the courage to do so and you look so great in yours!

I'm glad you didn't ask us to choose a favorite! All of the shawls are lovely--the style and the colors. I'm in love with those baskets, especially the colors in the first one. How they brighten up anywhere they are placed. And, that pillow--on my!! You have creative and busy hands.

Best,
Bonnie

Well, you well know that I love everything you stitch. I'd have to say the beautiful multi colored blanket and matching pillow were my favorites though.

We are what we are and we love what we love, but I think this last year you have shown that's there's power in opening the door to new things. Look at all you made with the C hook! !

And I love that vest! Really beautiful.

Tanna,
What a year and what a good look for you too! You have a true talent going on here and what inspiration for us all! I toy with crocheting-just maybe you are going to be the reason for me to get going with my many unfinished projects!

Jemma

You are an amazing crafter of all kinds of knits, Tanna! I read an article on facebook about a young mother who made $1 million dollars from her ETSY store selling her hand knits--I think you could match her if you ever decide to knit for profit.
