Bunnies, Birdies and Best???

The Easter Bunny arrived at our house last weekend.  As you can tell by all the blossoms on the ground, the azaleas are nearing the end of their magnificent show; and, I'll soon be swapping out the pansies for summertime plants.   Time... seasons... life... all fly by so quickly.

My heartfelt thanks for all who prayed for our friends.  Surgery is scheduled for next Monday.  Again and again I'm reminded of the brevity and preciousness of life.

My brother, Jeff, was here for a few days; he and I (poor Evan is still having back problems so he could not join us) enjoyed a couple of rounds of golf.  This was my last shot Sunday evening on a par 3.  Fun way to end a round with a birdie (thank goodness I made that putt)!!   Always good to have family visit, especially when they enjoy golf.  ;)

I think the Easter season has started an epidemic of dishcloth makings!  Seems everywhere I look, someone is making a dishcloth!  These Easter colors sparked my dishcloth frenzy.  I need one more skein to finish the one on top (there was one more from this skein and it found a new home).   I also have  a small pile of BRIGHTER ones.  hee hee

I am curious which pattern you like best.

Above is a Linen Stitch crochet dishcloth.

This is the beginnings of a knitted Garter Stitch dishcloth.

And, this one is crocheted, a single crochet alternately through the front and back loops.

I see some solid pastel colors coming up next.  LOL!  Which stitch pattern is your favorite?  Or do you have another that is?

Thank you again for your much appreciated prayers.

Each Day...

I told myself I wouldn't let more than a week pass before sitting down to do a post.  Life seems to throw the best laid plans to the wind sometimes.  We've enjoyed GOOD times and BAD times and a lot of just in between GRIND times over the last two weeks.

Our Karsyn turned 9!  Too fast.  Way too fast.  She is most precious to us.

The boys and their momma visited for spring break.  Sooooo good to spend a few sweet days with them.  We stayed B.U.S.Y!

We've been blessed with magnificent beauty all around.... ALONG with LOTS of pollen!  ;)

On sadder notes, I spent time in waiting rooms with dear friends.  The C-word sends the world crashing down around those involved.  If you believe and are inclined, please pray for our friend, Johnny, and his wife as she supports him.

I've also spent time with my Beloved in waiting rooms and outpatient procedure rooms as he has suffered from severe back pain.  I am thankful that the last treatment has given him some relief.   It is so hard to watch someone you love suffer and not be able to relieve them.

I caught this cute little visitor (right in the middle) sitting in my Swiss Chard.  He was a very bright spot in my week!

Then there has been TAX time work.  I just hate it.

And, as I type the whole heating and cooling system in our house is being replaced.  Better to find out now than in the midst of Texas summertime.  But, I'm ready for a nice, slow, lazy, quiet week... with no pain or bad news for anyone I love.  Or people I don't, like the folks in London.  Tragic.  Prayers for all.

Each day... it is a gift.

Little Glimpses...

Fresh mulch, new pittosporum shrubs (to replace dead ones), and on-the-verge azaleas... along with a few pansies.  Spring is ALMOST HERE!!

I still have to trim up my poor rosemary... it has some unattractive dead spots.  I'm a little worried it is too shaded for the rosemary to thrive in this spot.  Still, I love its scent by the front door.  The pansies will be replaced as soon as all frost possibilities are past.  Overall our front yard is starting to look pretty good, especially considering where it started.  The back... it is still in nightmare phase.  LOL!  I DO have ideas for it.  ;)

Note to self (and others):  Be very careful where you get down on your hands and knees (I was looking for a golf ball that went into a row of hedges... if you can find your ball, no penalty stroke; if you can't, one stroke penalty).  My knee was solid black with ants in just seconds and I received these bites in spite of some VERY frantic swatting/wiping away.  NOT worth the attempt to save that stroke!  ha!

Isn't that the truth?  Yep.

Paleo/Primal with the hubby.  He's dropping weight... me, not near so quickly!  But, what's not to like about steak and green beans with bacon?  ;)

The evenings on the deck have been so beautiful!  Coolness... and the smell of the warmth lingering as the sun goes down.  I love that earthy spring smell.

One of my favorite things is catching "little glimpses" that make me smile.  I caught the glimpse of morning rain... shining on the deck... plants soaking it up... Yep.  Made me smile.  And, give thanks.
