Heat Waves, Squirrel Shades and Birthday Wishes...

It has been triple digiting for awhile now.  This was actually at 106 when I got in the car at the grocery store.  Cooled down to a breezy 104 after I had been driving a few minutes.  I love summer, but this is too much... even for me.

This little guy is flattened out in the shade hoping to cool off a bit.

I've been chasing the air conditioner repair guys around for the past couple of weeks.  We are only 18 days into summer and I have written checks for over $8K in repairs and replacement of one unit (that's one of the downsides of collecting properties... instead of having one A/C to maintain, we have 21).

Did you mention A/C?  Where do you think I could find some?

Today my most precious Little Man is two years old.  I am so missing him.  Skype is just a sad second to being able to scoop  him up and squeeze him close!

Your Noni loves you bigger than the sky-- to the moon and back!  Happy Birthday, Little Man!!  XOXOXOXOXO

Blessings and wishes for cool breezes to all ~ Tanna

Oh my! I cannot tolerate heat. Another thing I miss about Roanoke is, that no matter how hot during the day, it usually cooled down at night and there was a nice breeze.

Happy birthday to Little Man who seems to know how to keep cool!

Best,
Bonnie

Oh my goodness. I would melt, I'm sure of it! That poor little squirrel says it all.

Yes, Skype is wonderful but it doesn't fill the arms...

Happy Birthday, Little Man!! Yes, that is quite hot. We are adjusting to waking up in the RV at 47 degrees in the morning Brrrr, and then it goes up to 85 during the day. Think about it...years ago there was no air conditioning and our ancestors did survive....

Dear Tanna ~ That squirrel looks looks beat!!! What a capture. I guess animals hate the heat too.

I loved ready you sayings to your grandchildren...High as the sky and to the moon and back...we use those too.
Every time the grandkids say I love you... I return with I love you more...and they we are off on a roll to see who can come up with he biggest comeback... it's a love and fun and a lot of love.

Happy Birthday darling.. You are grandma's sweetie...so cute cooling off in the pool.

That squirrel says it all! We are wilting here as well and the humidity must be 99%. I can see the mildew growing. So sorry you are not with your little on his second birthday!---thankful for skype but you are right, not the same. I discovered some of our old girl back posts--I don't think I realized how much you are into this. There has to be must satisfaction when one is restored or fixed up nicely for the next renter. And to whomever gets to rent such a lovely place, what a blessing they have! Have a good weekend and stay cool!

that squirrel is a kick! I've heard Austin & San Antonio were the hottest spots in the nation this week. Ugh. Hate that heat. Is it humid where you are? I hate humidity more. Richmond, VA was unbearable in summer. Oi! Happy B'day to your eldest grandchild. He looks cool in the pool!

That poor squirrel is about the saddest thing I have seen in a very long time.
Sorry you are missing your little man on his big day.
How lucky he is to have you loving him.

Happy second birthday Little Man! I know how you feel, Tanna. SKYPE is fun, but it's not like the real thing.

I can not take the heat and humidity as well as i used to. My house is older and does not have central air so I have been spending most of my time in the rooms that have window units. I hope it cools down a little soon!

Terrific Two's! Happy Birthday!

I'm sure he misses you, also.
They know who loves them to the moon and back, Grandma!

We have a spare room up here in the cool Pacific Northwest.

Hi Tanna,
It's been hot here too...Probably not as hot as there, but for a girl that doesn't do well in heat...anything over 80 is just TOO HOT :-) Stay cool my dear friend. Wishing you a wonderful weekend. And a very happy birthday to your sweet little man.

Hugs and Blessings,
♥Ana

Warm here too, but not that warm! But I bet our humidity is worse than yours. :)

Love the photo of your little man... he sure knows how to beat the heat.

Have a wonderful Saturday, Tanna!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's always nice to hear from my friends. I'm so excited to see this jewelry in person!

You probably have more humidity than we do, but we topped off at 117* last weekend! It is our monsoon-time, but here in our part of AZ, we seldom actually get the rain. It just gets super-hot & cloudy, but little or no rain. Oh, but we do get frequent wind which makes it feel like a convection oven. The way that little squirrel looks is exactly the way I felt! Yay, it's only supposed to be 110* today!

I really enjoyed your last couple of posts. I'm just not getting around to commenting as often as I'd like. Those places you are rehabbing are amazing. The floors are so gorgeous. How does everything hold up as a rental? When we were first married & had to rent before we were able to buy, we always treated the homes or apartments with complete respect, as if they were ours. I'm afraid I don't see that very often these days.

Happy B-day to your little GS. And that new one is just precious. Loved the lion outfit - major cuteness!

I'm not liking the heat and humidity here in MO at all this summer. It's going to be 100 or more tomorrow. Ugh! That kind of heat is hard on the poor little animals, too. Cute photo of the squirrel! And a Happy Birthday to your g'son! He is so cute and looks cool sitting there in his pool. Have a nice weekend and stay cool!

Happy Birthday to your precious grandson! I'm sure he's still loving being the big brother.

I can't imagine having to worry about 21 units total. I'm nutso worrying about 2.

It's HOT. Good grief, it's HOT.

Hi Tanna - that squirrel is So cute there trying to get cool! He needs to get in the swimming pool with Little Man.

Mark Scirto says that we're going to have more of the same at least through next weekend, and even hotter temps. Yikes! And you've got several AC's to work on! We just spent about $800 for a new compressor, and our AC is only 3years old!

Hey Tanna, we are back from Nepal where we saw more water than I've ever seen in my life. Rain, rivers, waterfalls, gorges ... and now we are back to the heat and dust.

Love that you are restoring those old homes. Must be a great feeling to actually do something. I always hate seeing great old buildings just allowed to sit and run down.

Have a great day. Tammy

That squirrel is hilarious! The kittens on my back porch are laying around like that, too!

Oh my gosh that's really hot! At my age I cannot stand the temp. in my house to be any higher than about 71! My husband sits around with a blanket on! I could not function without AC. Have a great week...and stay cool!

Those squirell pictures are hilarious!!!!!

Happy Late Birthday to Alex......2 years old, my, my.

I can't imagine maintaining 21 a/c units....wow. I'll bet that keeps you hopping with the temps so high.

Happy late bday to Alex! Where did the past 2 years go? Oh, I have tears in my eyes, happy tears of course :) I feel like that squirrel. I found myself enjoying a little shut eye during Lila's nap today. It's the only way to power through these hot days!!!

I LOVE that picture of the squirrel, how funny! My goodness, I don't envy you that hot hot weather; we've only hit about 86 degrees up here, and I just don't fare very well in anything hotter. Your little grandson is so adorable, you must hanker for his hugs and kisses so often! I hope you get to see him soon.

Have a wonderful day, I hope it cools down for you guys a bit! <3
