Keep Calm and Carry On

Have you ever had one of those weeks where nothing seems to go right?

And, you know you have to keep moving forward... or you'll get pulled down by an undertow that never seems to wane.  It is much harder to put one foot in front of the other and carry on when the arm you just knitted on your sweater would better suit a 200 pound gorilla than yourself... when the watercolor you worked on all day looks like, at best, a third grader's attempt (and we are not talking child prodigy here, either).  And, these are the things I do for enjoyment... enrichment... to offset some of life's curveballs.

The blessing of the week is no problems with the Old Girls (historic rental homes); just one routine change of locks for a nice little new tenant.

I'm about to head out for a walk... a prayer... a hope for a lighter afternoon.

Hope your days are running smoothly and all is well in your world...

Enjoy your walk. Cold and raining here. I can't wait for warmer days so Bailey and I can walk again.

I am familiar with those days too - and I hope you move out of it fast.

Well, this certainly gives me encouragement to carry on with a shawl. How can I go wrong? Don't answer that! I'd suggest having a Skype session with Little Man to make things right!!

Best,
Bonnie

Tanna, I always find a good walk invigorating and mind clearing. I hope all your worries fall away soon! {{ Hugs}}

Hope your walk helped! That does usually help me feel better.

And I'm guessing that your sweater and watercolor are a lot better than you think!!!

Beautiful picture of the light, by the way.

Hi Tanna - a walk it is, then! Just the ticket!

As for the painting, there always comes a time in the middle of it (for me anyway) when I want to chunk it out the window and throw all my paints in the trash. Just gotta work through it. Then, sometimes it still doesn't work out! Just keep at it - you'll have more triumphs than failures!

I don't know if it works the same way with sweaters, tho... maybe you know a nice gorilla that needs a sweater??????? ;)

Tanna, you need a hug!! This is ALL of us. Such good intentions sometimes and then...nothing seems quite right. So, why go on with the project? Hang in there. Yes, a walk cleans the mind greatly.

Yes, skype is needed....but a hug from LM would get you back in the groove. Do you have your next visit on the calendar? Something to look forward to helps me.
I wish we lived closer to each other, I would love to walk with you.
Have a good day, my friend, it will get better.

Ah..Sweet Tanna, If I Lived Closer I'd Drop By And Give You A Big Southern Hug! At Least You're Maintaining A Great Sense Of Humor While Jumping Your Hurdles! I Cracked Up In Reading The Reference To The Prodigy! What A Hoot! And I Found Myself Trying To Visualize That Gorilla Sized Knitted Sleeve. Cracked Up At That One Too. Like I Said..You Sure Are Maintaining A Wonderful Disposition Through The Storm. Here's A Lit'l Secret I Always Say To Myself When I'm Facing A Day Of Wrath. "This Too Shall Pass". I Say It Over And Over Until It Fully Sinks Into My Heart. And Guess What? Whatever Ugliness I've Happened To Face That Day..DOES PASS. Tomorrow Is Always Better! :)) Sending You A Big Southern Hug Sweet Lady, Terri

I think we can all relate to your 'week'. I guess weeks like this makes us appreciate the great ones when everything seems to fall into place! I hope the coming week brings you unexpected pleasures and joy. I love this beautiful chandelier and the light stars are perfect!!!

It's interesting how we have those days or weeks --and then a time where we blissfully flow through the day. I'm sure if life had no bumps in the road it could be a bit dull. Sorry your projects aren't producing what you had hoped right now, but at least they are bringing you some creative moments ...

OH yes! I hear ya sister! Sometimes you just HAVE to look UP and PRAY!

That chandelier is gorgeous. Is that in your house or one of the Old Girls?

Be thankful you can paint! My art comes in the form of music, and I wish very much I could paint music on canvas. The post picture is gorgeous! I hope your walk brought peace of mind and heart. Bless you, friend.

Knitting is sometime not for the weak of heart. I've probably pulled out as many stitches as I've ever knit. I remind myself to enjoy the process, not just the goal.

Tanna, sometimes it's good to have bad things arrive and depart simultaneously. By my reckoning, you are do for a streak of really good luck. Have a great day. Blessings...Mary

Oh dear yes, I have had plenty of those weeks. I do hope the walk helps and gives your heart a new perspective. Something our pastor said this week about how big our God really is in comparison to the view we have of our mountains. I have heard it before, but the pictorial image I got helped!
