A Challenge for Our Lives, too...

I saw this video on Sandie, The Chatty Crone's blog.  I LOVED it.  Just the best thing I had seen in awhile.  I've asked her if she minded that I would post it, too.  She was most gracious in her response to share.  Thank you, Sandie, for leading me to this. I hope the rest of you enjoy it as much as I did.  It raises some amazing challenges for our own lives.  Enjoy...

There is a book that I read years ago called, "It Take So Little To Be Above Average".
That is just what Johnny did. Only he took it way above average.

Well, it was passed to me from a friend, and now I passed it to you - a new friend.

We could all use a Johnny in our life don't you think?

And the more people who see this the better!

Love,
sandie

I pray everyday that I will be a blessing to someone. I try to smile or have something kind to said to everyone I see each day. Sometime it is hard to find the good in some people. I ask God to let me see them as he does.
Great post!!

My husband is a manager for a grocery store for the last 30 years. I just sent this via email to all of his asst. managers. I deal with alot of people on a daily basis at my job, and I must say that Johnnys idea is something i would love to do...i always make each patient feel special and pay attention to them..what a wonderful world it would be if everyone did this....your video actually brought me to tears :-)

Being a bagger was my first job. I stayed at that store all through high school and college, so I sooo relate to that story. We do need people like that in our lives and both you and Evan are Johnny's in Ginger and I's lives. Your posts are encouraging, your blogs are always thoughtful, and the way you've helped Ginger and I is way above average, in fact it is imspiring. So thank you for all you do for us.

I just "met" you on another blog and had to stop by when I saw "bungalow" in your blog's title. We, too, have a bungalow--1921 Aladdin--and am always interested in others. We were recently in Houston and visited The Heights where there are some great bungalows. Wish we could have gone inside!!

Best,
Bonnie

Oh Tanna..Thank You so much for sharing Johnny's story. I so totally agree..True Service can only come from the Heart.

I've been away from blogging for a wee bit. Have sure missed popping in for my weekly visit at your place. Friend, You just have this wonderful way of setting me upright again. I've missed you.

Very touching...That just spurs so many ideas. And isn't that what God wants us to do -- make a difference?! Wish you would come to Jefferson, but I understand a golf tourney took priority! :) Oh well...hopefully next year we can really do it right!

Wish I could shop there. We have "challenged" baggers at our grocery store during the day. And even though they bag heavy- all the cans in one bag and occassionally smash my bread I adore them. They have such spirit, happiness and pride in the job they do and they truly are uplifting. You just can't stay in a bad mood when they are your baggers. One never forgets a name - ever. One is always quite chatty. And one is always singing country songs.
They make me go there- they are not the cheapest but they are nicest to be around - and Hey I'll pay for happiness anyday.
