The Porch

It was this porch that landed us here at The Brickstreet Bungalow. Evan and I had ran past it for three plus years when the For Sale By Owner sign appeared in its front yard. We were due to close on another house at the end of the week. I pleaded to just go see it... well, here we are four and a half years later... in our urban bungalow. If you look closely, you can see the echo of columns continue on our neighbor's porch.

This back corner overlooks a fish pond... the rippling of the water sounds softly in the background. Those little birds in on the sofa table were a Mother's Day gift from Amanda... I would love them just because they are cute... but, I cherish them because they are from her.

That giant philodendron is from my Mom. She received it when her mom, MaMaw, passed away. That has been over thirty years ago... no pressure on keeping it alive. So far, it seems to love this spot in the morning sun.

These two pillows were finds on a Canton journey with Amanda and Barbara...

These from Roanoke...

My knitting nest... =)

The weather is perfect!

See you on the porch...

Hi, Tanna. Thanks for stopping by! Another Texas blogger. Yea! I'm sorry you won't be around for the blog party. Maybe you can make a run to Poetry another time. Fun blog...great porch! ~Mindy

LOVE your porch. It makes me want to sit on it and drink a glass of lemonade while having great conversation!

Weather has been soooo nice after the rainstorms, Deb!

Katherine, I have all my windows open in my little "treehouse" as I type away (I like it much better now that I am not looking down on a bare backyard! lol)

Mindy, I have definitely put Poetry, TX on my list of places to visit!

California Girl... I don't really have a sense of style... I just appreciate the timeless style of old homes... I do ENJOY them!

Dana, lemonade and conversation! Priceless! =)

Sigh. I love the little respite you've created. I love seeing it. I love enjoying it. I love napping on it. Mostly I just love being there hanging out with the fam. =)

(I knitted on Little H's blanket)... plotted on the Blackberry Farm adventure... Milha and Johnny came for dinner... smoked chicken, roasted asparagus, potato salad, corn casserole, Sister Shu's rolls... Bluberry-Lemon cake... you were so missed... XOXOXOX

Perfection! The porch would have got me too. I've had a philodendron for 30 years too. It has become a part of the family.

Your front porch is so beautiful and very inviting. The floor is gorgeous. One look at this lovely outdoor space & I had to become a follower. Looking forward to taking a look around a little later.

Love it! What a beautiful, inviting porch! As we are in pollen season here in central Arkansas I have to ask "how do you deal with that yellow/green oak pollen that gets on everything and does rain get all the furniture wet? I could live on a porch like this!
