Happy Easter...
As this Easter season approaches, we enjoy the bright beauty of spring...
And, the whimsy and fun of egg dying and hunting...
And candy... and good food... and gathering with family...
All good.
But, most of all let us remember... the Sacrifice... the Love... the Hope and opportunity of Redemption... of Forgiveness...
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessings in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will--to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment--to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ." ~ Ephesians 1:3-10
Wishing each of you a joyous Easter filled with the wonder of His Gift.

Light Waves: Spring Tease
We've had the tease of spring lately... And, it has had me craving color... Spring color.
This quick, fun little pattern fit the bill AND gave me an opportunity to practice the German Short Row technique I learned while doing the Dreambird! Love 'em!!
This shawl is a nice small size, though plenty long. Perfect for early spring mornings and at the dimming of the day... when the nip is in the air.
It's made of Noro Silk Garden Lite and Brown Sheep's Nature Spun, that I had in my stash. The pattern is Light Waves by Susan Ashcroft. Details here. She also designed my favorite little owl shawl: Hogwart's Express.
It's good to have my computer back (from the Geek Squad) and a new modem! ;)
Wishing a beautiful spring weekend to all... blessings ~ tanna

A Week of Fun!!
Last week, the Little Men & Co. were in town for a couple of days! We so enjoyed their visit!
This crew enjoyed lots of fun at the Discovery Place Science Center. The room with the Kinetic experiments is at the top of the list for the Little Men. They LOVED rolling the golf balls down all the different ramps.
My Little Big Man loved this room the very first time he visited it when he was about his brother's age. It has not lost a bit of fascination for him!
Then, I was fortunate enough to get to take Little Lady on her first modeling job for Annie's. Pretty fun to watch four adults and a professional photographer wrangle the styling for their photo shoot.
Later in the week, we made our first visit to Rose Path Weaving (Noni's home away from home). Can't you just tell she loved the Madelinetosh of my friend, Laura's beautiful sweater? She did manage to spit up a little of her prunes from lunch on it. I think she may have been trying to claim it for herself!
My brother, Jeff and his wife, Brenda pulled into town for the weekend. The WHOLE week was just chocked full of sweet visits. You just have to love that! Whew! Now, to catch up!! ;)

Dreambird
In my dreams, I soar above the clouds...
Riding the wind with ease... and grace... and freedom...
In real life, I enjoy my dreams in this creation.... The feathers are almost magical as you wrap them around your shoulders...
Pattern: Dreambird by Nadita.
Yarns: Rowan Kidsilk Haze and Noro Silk Garden Sock
Needles: US 5
A special thanks to my daughter who indulged my photo obsession with this shawl and made it look its best.
It will be a couple of more days until things are back to normal around here. My Little Men & Co. just touched down in their hometown. And, I will be enjoying my Little Lady the rest of the week. Until then, may you soar in your dreams...

Whirlwinds...
Things have been running at whirlwind speed around The Bungalow. There was the ready-ing of this garage apartment (one of The Old Girls). I still have locks to change tomorrow... but, it will be getting a new tenant next week. The wonderful thing about The Old Girls is that they always find new people quickly. I am thankful for that.
Then, there was candy to be made this morning. We are hosting a fundraiser party, with three other couples, for 50 people this weekend. More work to be done on that project!
And, this shawlette came off the needles last night; it is blocking now. More to be revealed...
Best of all was time with Miss Blayklee this past weekend!! What a little doll (okay, I know a grandmother's oooohing and ahhhing must get old; but, I never tire of them)!
She was ready for a nap; and, I was lucky enough to get her to sleep in the "Noni bed (my arms)" and hold her the WHOLE nap time. Pleasure. Pure pleasure. Plus, I will get the joy of keeping her a few days next week! Yea!
AND, the Little Men are in flight to Texas even as I type. We won't see them until Sunday, but I am soaring on Cloud Nine... looking forward to swooping them up in my arms!! Lots left to do before then though!
Wishing you all a wonderful week! blessings ~ tanna

Valentine's Delight
Valentine's Delight: Receiving this in the mail from our LM & Co.
Valentine's Delight: Being the lucky recipient of one of Laura's beautiful hooked pieces.
I enjoy another of her works, Farm Garden, every day.
Projects have been flying off the needles and hooks around here!
I had fun with my first crochet flower! And, there have been a couple of other that took flight before I thought to get a photo.
But, finishing this last Sunday afternoon was just grand. I always enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes with completing a big project. There is a nice boost of energy that propels you through some other projects!
Wishing you all a very Happy Valentine's Day!! blessings ~ tanna

Yes, I did.
Yes. It's old (not in a good way)... just old. It's acrylic. It's pilled. It's a 70s color.
Yes, I bought it at Canton Trades Days last week. May have paid more than these skeins of yarn would have ever cost.
What can I say... occasionally, there is a piece of handwork that just tugs at my heart. I can almost feel the life of the woman who went before me... crafted into her work... the joys... the sorrows... the good times and bad... Her life.
I had a seven day hiatus from knitting, other than a short while I'll share about next. We had non-knitter company and I also had work I needed to do.
I try to put my knitting aside when I am with non-knitters. I value their time and their visits. I think they often feel like you are not paying attention or are bored with their company if you knit in their presence... Not so. And, that's one reason I love time with my knitting friends. They know. They know that their joys and sorrows are knitted right along side my own... as I listen to them and they to me... and our lives play out on the pieces we pour ourselves into...
We knit our lives... back together or ripped apart... into masterpieces or sturdy forms of function... whatever we need... we knit.
So, when I see another woman's work... a piece of her life... sitting in a junk bin... sometimes, I know her... sometimes, I hope she knows I know her... and that, for this moment, her life is tenderly washed and held as precious.
My one indulgence in knitting was Friday afternoon with my Bonus Granddaughter and Daughter, Gracie (on the left) and Audra (on the right)... I so enjoyed time with them attempting to pass this art along... I'm not sure they will embrace it at this point in their lives... It was many years later for me... but if not, I hope the seed will rest safe until they are ready... and then blossom to bring them the same joy that knitting brings me. Selfishly, I would wish sooner than later... but, things happen in their own time. And, I'm good with that.

And, joy of joys! We met these precious Little Ladies and their parents for dinner! My sweet Blayklee was wearing her Clara Dress... talk about making a Noni's heart sing. ;) I hope one day to see her daughter wear this dress... a Noni's dream...
Sending wishes for a wonderful week to each of you...
