Summer Dreaming...

Cold, bitter wind has me dreaming of long, warm, sunny days.... {sigh}  I made this photo with my phone camera outside a little juice joint (Jul's) in Tyler last summer.  I LOVE the wall of color!!  So beautiful!!

Ahhhh, for The Quote.  I'm with Tammy, the "gist" of it I agree with... however, the wording!  Doesn't "steal" just strike a visceral chord?!  I am all for being inspired by others.  But, taking (okay, stealing) someone else's idea, photo, words, work, etc. and claiming it as yours.  Nope.  Not for it.

Like, Podso says... I LOVE the idea of devouring that which speaks to our souls... and then taking it to our own way of doing (operative word -- our own).

And, as Andrea so eloquently said and I'm giving the short response, I think artist and creators should be paid for their work.  It is their work!  Well said, Andrea.  Well said.

There is definitely a difference in my mind between being inspired by and claiming as your own.  Permission.  Purchase. Credit where credit is due.  Just basically being considerate.  Doing the right thing.  All good.

Thank you brave ladies for jumping in on this one.   I love the passion of the responses.  And, the politeness, Kerin.  ;)

It stirred my own pot... and, I'm glad to see we share the same "buttons" that were pushed.  LOL.

I'm off to continue to dream of long, warm, sunny days while I rustle up some dinner!!

That definitely was an interesting post, Tanna, and I quite agree that credit should be given to the creator of whatever one uses. I also agree that the word "steal" is one that brings up negative thoughts. Do love that flowery wall; it makes me long for spring sunshine and longer days. This morning it was incredibly foggy but mostly we've had lots of gray skies and plenty of rain. At least we don't have to shovel the rain!

I love the wall of flowers. There is a wall like that at one of my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia that is similar to this one. Have a lovely week.

I agree I would never claim as my own and do credit where it is desired...inspired, yes!
No fair on the flowers...as it is still dropping over here at 24 degrees and going lower.
Us Texas girls!
Thanks for comments on the quote..fun to hear.

Interesting posts, Tanna. I missed the last one, but just read it. I'm not sure how I feel about the quote. I don't condone stealing, of course. Beautiful flowers on the wall. Can't wait for flower weather! :)

I did read yesterday's post and forgot to leave a comment. Stealing is wrong, however we all get inspired from seeing and reading about things and then it is fair to do our OWN thing. Credit should always be given to someone elses work These flowers are lovely to brighten up our winter.

Nice to see your sunshine on this frigid morning. And, thanks for starting a thought provoking discussion!

Woke up to -9F this AM. Drove in to work at -3. No idea what the temps are now. Afraid to leave my warm office.

Bright beautiful flowers on a day when our world here has turned dull and drab due to dust. They say it will get worse but I don't hear the wind whipping like it was earlier, so maybe the dust will clear so that at least part of the weekend will be nice. Although, I don't mind staying home at all. :) Best wishes, Tammy
