On bumps in the road and dropping the ball...

I dropped the ball on having a post every day this month.  Seems we make plans and life sends us a big bump in the road sometimes.  I've had a couple of days of feeling under the weather (does anyone know where that old saying came from?).  Really makes you appreciate how wonderful it is to wake up feeling good.  I am most happy to be doing that this morning!

Along with not getting my post done, I haven't gotten much done on The Gardening Cardigan either!  And, I was hoping to be finished before the Mojo Package got here.  ha!  Well, I'm off to tend things that have been ignored for two days!

Hope you are all on top of the weather (whatever that might mean... though one must assume it would be better than being under the weather).  hee hee

It's good to hear you are feeling better today. If one is under the weather, we could assume it's not the best weather we get.

I've always thought that to be under the weather meant to be pretty low under a low-lying fog. I hope you're up in the sunlight before long! The gardening cardigan looks like it will be beautiful - love those colours.

Hope you are feeling better. Haven't heard that saying "under the weather" in a while... Oh, those unexpected Bumps...the reasons for our twist and turns in life. Hopefully..the sunshine this next week will help us all to feel better...

I've given up on making firm plans, I cant be disappointed then. I hope you recover soon, it's not nice feeling rotten when you have things to do. I believe the saying came from when sailors felt ill they went below the decks to recover and get away from the weather. Something like that anyway. Take care x

A post a day? Pretty ambitious.
I'm lucky if I get one a month.
Glad you are feeling better.

The important thing is that you are feeling better, and took time to rest. Blogging can wait, you are much more important.

Meredith

Tanna, I've not been commenting, but I've been reading since you've been back to posting regularly! I've been bad! I try to comment on everybody's blog as often as possible, but it doesn't work sometimes! I'm glad you're still visiting me and happy to see your comments. I'll be more diligent in at least letting you know I'm here reading. Love -

This is from PhraseFinder, Tanna. I love finding out the origin of so many of the phrases we use without really knowing exactly what they mean.

: "To be under the weather is to be unwell. This comes again from a maritime source. In the old days, when a sailor was unwell, he was sent down below to help his recovery, under the deck and away from the weather."

Tana, I just wrote down your "pint" quote. I think it will help me to remember not to put unreal expectations of me that I had when I was younger. After all, I do pretty good for 71 years of age!

I hope you continue to feel better!

The older I get the worse I am about being sick - I just hate to be under the weather. That's a good saying - no idea where it came from but it works! Glad you are feeling better.
