Empty...

My yarn bowl has sat empty for a good while.  Though I've been doing a bit of crochet, my knitting mojo has waned.  I've searched high and low for inspiration... I would see something and almost get interested enough to start... then nope... not feelin' it... almost get interested... then NOPE... nothing.

Last week, I dragged out a LONG UNFINISHED project (still not The Unloved).  It was a sweater I started in my early knitting days... I used a VERY different yarn than the pattern called for... came out with GORILLA sized arms; frogged and re-did it; and, probably then, realized I didn't have enough yarn to finish it.

In desperation to get myself moving forward, I found some yarn that will WORK to finish it.  Now, it is NOT going to win any glamour awards.  But, people, I need to get back on the train!  And, function will serve me nicely.  It will be my Gardening Cardigan.  ;)

I NEED to get going again BECAUSE,have seen ONE sweater that has stayed and stayed and stayed on my mind after seeing it on a TV show.  I don't even remember exactly what the show was... but, the lady had on this gorgeous white sweater... just a bit of lace pattern...

And, I have searched out a yarn I THINK will be like I remember that sweater... and found a pattern, not exact but similar enough... I THINK.  I ordered the yarn and am hoping my knitting mojo will arrive in the same package.  Until then, I'm going to try to force it back with the Gardening Cardigan.  ;)

Well every woman should have a gardening cardigan! I hope it does propel you forward into knitting the sweater of your dreams.

Your blog is so pretty! I'm so happy to have found it. Thank you for your visit, a pleasure to have met you!

On our way to Walmart for grocery shopping today, Roo fell asleep. When I woke him up, he told me he was dreaming about being with you at your knitting store looking at yarn. I asked if he was helping you pick any out, and he said, "no, just looking at it." LOL! Love you! xoxo

It is not easy sometimes to be motivated. I suppose sometimes we have to listen to our spirit and simply keep trying and when we are ready we will know it. xo Catherine

I bet this will do it. You need to start on something you are really excited about. Hope it comes back but meanwhile I love that you are crocheting! And do you put your ball of yarn in that bowl to keep it in line?

nothing wrong with a knitting break and then revisiting the craft. You should not put so much pressure on yourself and just enjoy what you enjoy doing!!

I'm right there with you ... didn't do much when Yusef was here, so now am trying to find my mojo. Maybe it's on holiday with yours. Ha! Hugs, Tammy

I find myself from time to time just not "into" knitting and I think I will never pick up my needles again. Then, there's a need for a gift and I decide it would be nice to make something for someone and my mojo returns. Doing for others always turns things around for me. Crocheting just might be the break you need right now, and what's wrong with trading off knitting needles for a crochet hook!? Enjoy.
