Tequila Sunrise?

Every once in awhile, a song will start repeating in my mind as I pin a shawl out to block...

Even though it was a gloomy day, strains of the Eagles' Tequila Sunrise just kept playing softly as I smiled and pinned this beautiful color to the bed.  I had been wanting to try one of the gradient yarns; my first is Glisten Fingering by Apple Tree Knits in the colorway:  Leaves Aflame.  I LOVED the glowing coral but was a little disappointed with the kind of blah I was seeing as I neared the edge... then the idea came of adding a pop of color... I love the brown trim (Madelinetosh Tosh Sock in Fig) and this has to be my favorite bind-off I have ever done (I did add two knit rows before beginning the picot just to give weight to the brown addition)!   Plus, I am pleased with the coloring now.

My beads don't really show up all that well in these photos, but there is a tiny bead tucked in every curve of this picot-style bind-off.  The pattern, Palessie by Diana Rozenshteyn, is very well written and TV-knitting kind of easy!  I cannot wait for it to come out of the blocking pins!

This was pre-blocking and you can see the beads a bit better (without the wires and pins).

I just downloaded the last clue to the Morticia Knit Along and look forward to finishing that one, too.  Soooo many patterns and beautiful yarns... so little time.  ;)

Tequila Sunrise by The Eagles

It's another tequila sunrise
Starin' slowly 'cross the sky, said goodbye
He was just a hired hand
Workin' on the dreams he planned to try
The days go by

Ev'ry night when the sun goes down
Just another lonely boy in town
And she's out runnin' 'round

She wasn't just another woman
And I couldn't keep from comin' on
It's been so long
Oh, and it's a hollow feelin' when
It comes down to dealin' friends
It never ends

Take another shot of courage
Wonder why the right words never come
You just get numb
It's another tequila sunrise, this old world
still looks the same,
Another frame, mm...

I hope something starts a song for you this week.

Love the coral shades...but the trim and beads really does make it pop. I hope to have a great song in my head this week...not those silly commercials that seek refuge in between my ears.

Once again, you've created a beautiful piece. I'm always so impressed with your handiwork!

Usually the song that I end up humming all day, is one that the kids started singing in the morning :)
Lately, it's been Christmas songs~~~LOL!

Have a great day, my friend.

That's very pretty. You had a good idea to use the brown yarn for the edging. I tried to put beads on the picots of my last shawl and I just couldn't figure it out. Yours looks great!

Just love your Tequila Sunrise. Lovely fall colors and such details. I don't think I ever really knew the words to the song, only the tune. Rather sad, isn't it.

Without a Song...wouldn't it be sad. Last week on my ABC Wed. I shared a video of Noah Stewart, singing "Without a Song"...wonderful voice.

i can imaging,Tanna, how you are doing this: blocking and singing ...may be a little swinging in takt of the song.
...it is unbelievable how fast you knit.

Oh wow...it is so pretty! And I love how big it is. Orange has really been one of my favorite yarn colors the past couple of years. If you get just the right one, it's hard to beat for the wow factor. I absolutely love that you chose a brown to finish this off. PERFECT! Why, oh why have I not bought any Madelinetosh yarn yet? I don't know!

Hi Tanna, what a lovely shawl! I also love that bed of yours! :D I think I could come live at your house quite easily, lol! You and I have the same taste in style!
I am not having luck with my shawl making yet... but I am determined to get it so I'll keep practicing, failing and ripping out until it finally clicks :D
Hugs and thanks for sharing that gorgeous orange color with us...

Dear Tanna, Just beautiful!!
I love the addition of the beads.
I know what you mean when a song runs through your head!
I feel that way too. So much you want to get done in such a limited amount of time.
I suppose we will get done what the Lord wants us to.
Blessings dearest. Catherine xo

Beautiful shawl, Tanna! I love the picot and bead addition, too. BTW, we call those songs earworms and usually are "infected" with our choir anthems on a weekly basis.

The piece is beautiful.
The song...an Eagles' song, made me laugh. I wanted tickets to the Eagle concert here in Dallas...they were tooooooooooooo expensive. I even tried to figure out how many houses I would have to clean to afford them..now isn't that dumb? They have just come and gone and I didn't see them...so your song made me laugh.

I did get tickets to another great concert....
