Stitch Markers, Summertime and Birthday Invitations

This is for all of you curious non-knitters out there.  The stitch markers Karen was so gracious to give away go on your knitting needle (this one is a circular needle so the mid-part is a plastic line) to mark a certain number of stitches.

This particular pattern has markers at every 10th stitch to deleniate a new repeat in the lace pattern.  Aren't these just too pretty sitting in the yarn?   Makes me happy just to look at them!  ;)

Now, these are my usual markers!!  A little piece of yarn... not nearly as attractive as the others, but they get the job done.

I don't know about the rest of you, but blogging in the summer takes on a certain level of difficulty!  I find it hard to sit in front of the computer when the days are so long and beautiful.

This photo came on through a text on my phone a few days ago.  How cool is that, when we get to almost instantly see a precious sight?  Gotta love modern technology.  Little Man was mailing his birthday party invitations...

Then, just a few days later Noni and Pop Pop were the excited recipients of a those cute invitations (go Amanda)!!  Yea!  Little Man will be turning three!  Hard to believe how quickly these precious years have flown past. Thank you, Little Man.  It is more wonderful to be wanted than I could ever say.  XOXOXOXO

Hope you are all staying cool.  It is a scorcher down this way today!  blessings ~ tanna

Tanna, I cannot even imagine how you knit with that fine and fluffy yarn. I'm sure it is going to be beautiful when you are finished, but I can see major frustration if I tried to use something so fluffy.

I am always impressed with Amanda's thoughtfulness. She is such a good momma because you were!

Hope you get to go to the birthday party.

Yes, technology certainly helps when the grands are far away. So he will be three and Rachele will be four in August. Time flies.

Well, I'm glad you cleared that up...lol. The entire project would make me go blind! (or maybe I should say more blind) ha

I agree, it is nearly impossible for me to find the time to sit and blog. If I'm not having fun, I'm working (ugh)

Hot doesn't even do justice to the weather.....awful!

Love technology for such things! Sweet photo! Heart- melting! I think summer days are slow ( or busy...but wonderfully not normal). I'm also finding less time to post, which is why readers are helpful so we can see posts when they come along. Still enjoying the connection.

Okay - I'm sure you got an invitation - from that cutie pie! And I am sure that you are going.

Love your knitting - and I know what you mean about hard to work on the computer when it is so nice outside.

You've got me curious now, Tanna, about what you're knitting! I love the color too. Kids are certainly living proof of the passage of time, aren't they? But we aren't getting any older, right? Cute photos of your grandson; three is such a fun age.

Little Man is so cute mailing his cards. I just sent a box off today to our great grandson Issac, who just turned 5 and will start school this year...They grow so fast don't they. I've got one going to graduate from college, and one going into school...Love them all.

Turn around and their tiny, turn around and their tall :-). I never understood that snippet until I became a mother and grandma. Would that I could stop the clock. He is very dear and I;m sure his mama will make his day special. Have a great day, Tanna. Blessings...Mary

Days are long here, too, but because of the heat, I'm stuck inside, and since I don't want to clean, I'm blogging, crocheting, cooking, baking. Basically making messes and enjoying my time. But if the weather was nice, I would definitely be outside enjoying the great outdoors. Happy almost birthday to the Little Man who is growing up mighty fast. best wishes and blessings, Tammy

Since I don't knit, it's nice to be able to understand what those markers are used for. I'm sure it keeps your stuff from being lopsided, huh? I can see how those markers play an important role. Those are the cutest b-day invitations too! So creative. I'm sure it will be a fun party.

Dear Tanna, That is just adorable. Modern tech sure has come a long way!! Everything is instant! Though I have held fast and still do not have a microwave.
Time does move quickly and sometimes it is difficult to keep the pace. These events are precious and few. Enjoy every minute.
Blessings dear friend. Catherine xo

What a sweet photo! And the invitation is too cute. Sounds like a fun party!
It's a hot one here, too. 106 is the expected high for tomorrow. Ugh! And it's so dry, I'm thinking the town will be banned from fireworks this July 4th!
Enjoy your week!

Your Little Man looks so adorable mailing his Cars BD invitations!

My older little had his "3 and a half birthday" celebration a week ago! Since he is a December baby it is fun to also celebrate his half BD in June as it doesn't get as lost in the holiday shuffle. He has a cake, a couple balloons and a few little summer time themed presents from the family.

The stitch markers are so pretty that they could actualy be part of the knitting.

Yes, summertime makes staying on a computer more difficult. We've been having lots of rain lately, so I've kept up, but today is gorgeous and I've been oot all morning! Enjoy the nice weather!

How special is that - getting a photo of that adorable grandson of yours posting his invites?

I use those pieces of yarn, too, Tanna. But your new ones are gorgeous. I'm smiling too :)

I think he is just plain adorable!! I love technology the most when it benefits the heart and soul the way that this does.

I'm so late getting to this because, well because I've been lazily playing hooky from computer land for a few days. Don't know why. I just did.

Tanna, thank you very much for the pretty markers explanation and your thoughtfulness for all us non-knitters. I was thinking that maybe the markers should stay in the garment, it looks so pretty. I can knit and purl, but that's my extent. I learned to knit in high school but didn't continue the hobby. I took up cross stitch and crewel embroidery and stitched the heck out of everything. I tried to resurrect my interest in knitting...maybe someday.
The grandson is absolutely the cutest thing I've ever seen! All that gorgeous hair! You just want to eat him up, I know you do. Happy 3rd Birthday, Alex!
Stay cool, dear one.

Hi Tanna...hope you were able to enjoy the wonderful rain shower that we just had...so nice! Thank you Lord!
as always, your work is delicate and gorgeous..I thought of you yesterday, Trista and I were at a shop in tyler, and there was a knitted top that swept off the shoulder on one side. It was so cute. I could just see you working on that piece..
I know you just adore getting pictures of those cute kiddos...Your daughter is so good to keep you right there in the middle of it all...
Blessings..

Tanna! I am STRUGGLING too with blogging! Think about it but it is HARD to sit and apply myself! BUT THEN, I miss what YOU and others are doing and saying!!!

The markers are SOOOO cute! AND a birthday party??? Oh what fun!

Tanna that's a great use of technology - very charming. I hope you don't overheat, such hot weather makes me feel weary. Mind you, there is very little chance of that here in the UK at the moment, it is so wet and the temperature isn't getting above 18deg.
