Kinetik Mystery KAL-- D.O.N.E!!!

Finished this Kinetik Mystery Knit Along Thursday night and managed to get it blocked yesterday!  Laura Nelkin is the designer.  I used Sweet Georgia Tough Love Sock yarn in Cypress with size 8 beads --2246 to be exact (I do notice a few little outliers that need to be massaged back into their places).

I learned two things for sure:  Sweet Georgia Tough Love is as tough as nails and lace-tip addis (my favorite brand of knitting needles -- it must stand for "addicting") are invaluable in a project like this!!

I'm  not sure I will ever do another project that you are required to string over 400 beads at a time (MULTIPLE times) onto the yarn and PUSH THEM ALONG as you work.  There could be a photo of my doing this in the dictionary under ANNOYED or FRUSTRATED.  Not a pretty sight.  Have I mentioned how tough Sweet Georgia Tough Love Sock yarn is??

But, I am pleased with the final outcome.  I actually loved the center piece that united the two side triangles (in spite of my having to take it almost all out because I misread the instructions and was taking in two live stitches at each end instead of one).  Can I just say, it is less fun to go backwards than forwards.  ;)  My bad.

I also finished my Sothia (Sand and Surf), but haven't gotten it blocked yet.

My cute little blocking set wasn't large enough for either shawl, so Sand and Surf is next in line for the bed blocking station...

One down and one to go.  PLUS, I am about to start another exciting shawl by Boo Knits (with beads in a different method)!!  Can't wait!

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.  We are enjoying rain, blessed rain!!  Thank our Heavenly Father.  We need it so very much.  blessings ~ tanna

I couldn't have lasted counting the beads much less incorporating them into your beautiful piece!! I love the color. It just says "spring or autumn in Virginia" don't you think? Bravo!

Best,

Did I read correctly that you are about to start another project that involves more beads? Oh. My. Goodness. Gracious. Sakes. Alive. I honest to goodness don't know how you do it. What I do know is that everything you touch turns out beautiful, so I'm ready to see the next round! =) xoxoxo

Oh My Goodness.. .it came out SO stunningly! I'm thrilled that you persevered with all those beads!

Perhaps given a little break you will forget the pain of threading all those beads and just relish the joy of your gorgeous finished shawl!

That beaded shawl is so gorgeous! I have never attempted beading...it just seems to fiddly for me. But lace I love to do and can certainly recognize your talent in this knitting. Wow! You inspire me.

I'm still on Clue 3, and yours is definitely giving me inspiration to get moving on it...

It was definitely worth the pain of stringing those beads!!! Has a somewhat Native American look to the center panel--it's just lovely!!!

That's really elegant. Is yarn still expensive? I recall my mother saying how it expensive it was (back in the day).

It's a work of ART, Tanna! How beautiful it is with the beadwork in it! I would never even attempt to do something like that! Ok, now we need to see you wearing this over something beautiful and model it for us!

Yikes! Beads and knitting at the same time?!?!!? Can't quite imagine that just yet. It turned out so beautifully...but, I like it best when you are the lovely model that shows it off!

Love that shawl and its color, too, Tanna. Maybe you couldn't throw a ball, but you sure have a lot of fine motor skill! All those beads, wow! Do they make the shawl heavy? I am anxious to see Sand and Surf, too!

Just thinking of the stiff yarn and all those beads made my fingers ache! You've made a beautiful piece that you'll wear with pride and pleasure for years. I hope that the pain will soon be a memory!

I am so impressed witih this, particularly all the work of the beads! Amazing you could do this all--sort of on faith as it was a mystery knit project, right? It turned out so beautifully. I hope you will keep it and wear it yourself. That's one piece that has a story you will love to share!

I know nothing about knitting, except how to spell it. So when you are explaining your steps and missed steps, I have no idea what you mean.
All I know is that you are an ARTIST, blocked or not blocked!
WOW, amazing!

That is just soooooooooo beautiful. Each time I see your art work I keep hearing I am seeing your heart! What a beautiful heart it is and it is reflected in your art.
Thanks for sharing it with us, I am also inspired, and I also rejoice in the fact God gives to each of us different gifts and I can enjoy yours with such delight.

Absolutely gorgeous! I don't know how you managed it as a knit-along. All those tiny beads. Yikes! You are one talented lady. Both shawls are beautiful! Enjoy the rain. We had a surprise drizzle the other night -- I didn't hear it, but the ground was wet the next morning. Since then, just dust. Yuck! Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Tammy

That is just beautiful! I can imagine that adding that beading took a LOT of extra time and patience. We're getting rain this weekend too.

That is beautiful and it was worth all the effort of moving those beads a little at a time. Love the color of the beads with the shawl too :)

Dear Tanna, What a beautiful shawl. I love the beading. You are not only talented but very patient. It must have been frustrating but I don't think anyone will find you picture under that.
I hope that your next project will not be with 400 beadings at a time, but I know it will be just as beautiful.
I am glad for the rain.
Blessings my dear friend, Catherine xo

Your shawl turned out beautifully! I love it, but I know now why I don't knit, I do not have the patience for it. I admire anyone who does.
Have a wonderful day.

The shawl is simply beautiful!

I'm standing in the praise corner for our rain, too. It beat against the house so steadily, and I wanted to dance in time with it.

Thank you, LORD.

This is really such a beautiful shawl, Tanna! It is a beautiful color and I love the open design. The beads must have been hard to work with, but they add such a spectacular touch. I know you'll receive a million compliments when you wear this around town.

What a heavenly color & all the beadwork accents. Simply gorgeous work.

I miss knitting - so soothing. Quilting takes up any "leftover" hours in the day. Oh! Just remembered - I used to knit when a passenger in the car....

I don't know how you do it Tanna. You are an amazingly fast knitter. You finished two shawls alread? Really? Boy, I remember when I first learn to knit I decided to knit a pink raglan sleeve sweater with a teddy bear in the center (It was the 80's, what can I say)...Plain knit and purl stitches! It took me forever! I wish I could knit like you. Beautiful shawl.

Much love,
♥Ana

Beautiful shawl! I love it with the beads. I have done the Undulating Waves Scarf (three times!) and I have the other half of the Enoble scarf to finish. I haven't started my Kinetik yet. I love Laura's patterns.
