In The Jungle...

In the jungle... the mighty jungle...

The lion sleeps tonight... (with the help of a paci)... Can't you just hear the music now?

One of the funnest things Amanda and I did during my stay was to find this pattern by Amanda Dean for The Fuzzy Lion Hat.  You can find her shop here.

Then Noni could not have her Littlest Man being immodest, so I whipped him up a loincloth to match.  It was quite humorous to see us measuring him and me trying to calculate how to make this little item of coverage.  We enjoyed lots of giggles over this... though Pop Pop thought it was just wrong (until he saw how cute it was for himself!).

Amanda even did her own very first knitting project while I was there and it came out so very cute.  We did both think the pattern we used (I made a teaching one) came out looking more like a goat than a rabbit.  hee hee... or maybe I should say, "baa baa."  We are still on the lookout for her a pattern she will enjoy and be excited by the outcome.  I know it's out there!

She did a beautiful job, especially for a very first knitting experience!  And, we enjoyed some laughter along with a little frustration at times!  LOL!  That is one cute little Billy Goat, isn't it?   Ahhh... the good times...

Oh so very precious! The lion and the lamb...oops, I mean't bunny, j/k, I think it is adorable. She did a super job.
I think we may be kin somewhere down the line too. Lots of similarities...except no one in this family knits or sews or crochetes. Hmmmmm....

You two, Noni & New Mom, are so talented. Those outfits are a scream. Are you guys gonna show them to the poor kid's GF when he brings her home?

I CAN hear the music playing! Too cute, but you realize you and his mom are going to pay, big time, for this picture when he's about sixteen years old! Oh well, too far away to worry about now!

Susan

Hi Tanna, what a super cute post with a super adorable subject! You and your DIL are very talented. And I'm a wee bit envious as I could never get the hang of knitting. DIL's first effort looks great! Okay, I'll close now with The Lion Sleeps Tonight song running through my head! LOL!

This is the cutest thing! You will not only cherish that picture as your little King of the Jungle grows up, but you'll always remember the way you giggled yourselves through it.

And the rabbit-goat hat is adorable too! Sure wish I had a talent like yours.

Oh my gosh! That is the cutest little lion ever! Absolutely, incredibly adorable. What fun! Great photos.

Sheep say baa-baa. Goats say maa-maa! HA!

Amanda did great on her first knitting project and the little guy looks great in whatever he is wearing.

Knitting and I did not work out. I tried to teach my cousin in NC to crochet a couple of years ago. she was all thumbs. :)

Have a wonderful Wednesday. Tammy

What adorable photos.
Amanda's first project is amazing.
Do you know I do not know how to knit and I would love to learn?
I can crochet, but I have never tried knitting.

Am I wrong or does he look more like his big brother by the day? The picture is wonderful. Please excuse me for laughing though as the music went through my head and I watched him sleeping. What will he think someday!

Ggggggggrrrrrrr!

Rather, puuuurrrrrrr. He's mostly purring in your pics. These are precious!

Wouldn't you love to know what he'll be saying about these pics when he's a teen??? haha!

You girls did a great job on the outfits. He's just a little "play-purty" right now. So fun to dress up! And yes, Debbie, he DOES look like his big brother to me, too!

What could be better then to create, laugh and spend time with the ones you love. By the way, very cute!

You are just too much! The lion is over the top cute and I was so encouraged to see that your daughter was just experiencing her first knitting project. My first daughter loves to knit and just took off once she learned. My second daughter isn't interested. My third does a beautiful job, enjoys it while she's doing it, but doesn't seem to have the motivation to pick up the needles on her own.

But Tanna and Amanda give me hope! ;)

Blessings, Debbie

Whoever said boys aren't as fun to dress as girls? They obviously never had the lion costume. Ha!

This "project" really was quite a hoot! I will never forget that first night we tried the mane on him! I can still hear the ROAR of laughter. Still one of my favorite pics. =)

I'm glad that the lion hat turned out better than the goat-rabbit attempt. Fantastic learning experience but disappointing end product. I need to get out and find my next little venture into the knitting world ASAP before I forget everything you taught me!

PS - I am still going to try to get a shot of the lion hat angled the way you want it. Wish me luck. ;-)

Oh my, those are some seriously cute newborn pictures!! Now I know what Amanda was hinting about in one of her previous posts. I can only imagine the joy that went into that project!!

As much as I love the sweet photos of Andrew, I have to admit that my favorite ones are of your sweet and dear daughter. I haven't seen many pics of her lately so it just warmed my heart to see her pretty face again!

And yes, the song is in my head and probably will be all morning, ha!

I am bleary-eyed from having arrived home last night late from vacation but woke right up with the photo of your new "grandcub"!! What a hoot--or roar! Andrew looks just as cuddly as his big brother!! I love the hat that Amanda did. So far, I haven't made it past straight knitting so I'm very impressed with the hat.

Just read in the hometown newspaper that the gas co. is putting in new lines in the city market and they might need to close it until November!! What? Closed during the height of fruit and vegetable season? And closed during my visit?

Best,
Bonnie
