The End Product and a Big Thank You

It still has to be matted and framed, but this was how it ended at 5 PM yesterday afternoon.  We still had a three hour drive home and I was pooped when I pulled in the drive.  I want to give very special thanks to the encouragement I received from my blogging friends.  I read your kind comments yesterday morning before heading back to class and the boost of encouragement was just so very special.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

There is so much to learn, but I am very excited about this medium.  I had always thought watercolors had to be pale and light... Soon Y Warren is the Caravaggio of watercolor.  Well, not the dark, darkness of Caravaggio, but you get the idea.  She sees watercolor as a vibrant medium.  I love it!!

Again, I thank my encouragers!  XOXOXOXO

Again, Tanna - you did an absolutely beautiful job!!! It needs matting and framing and putting up in a special place in your home!

You keep this up! If you're just a beginner, then the rest of the art world better LOOK OUT!

Words escape me! I love it! And the fact that this was your first class is even more impressive. I love Caravaggio--even his darkness intrigues me. Your success is enticing me to try my hand at watercolor. However, I know that one has to have some talent and I don't think I do.

Kudos!!

Best,
Bonnie

If you hung that painting in the local art gallery in town and then asked everyone who saw it, "How many years of experience do you think this artist has?", there wouldn't be one person to say, "None." This is amazing for anyone, but especially someone who had never picked up a watercolor brush before. I have a feeling that this painting is symbolic of many life lessons - all captured in one very long, very full weekend. When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. Sometimes the teacher checks in on the student even if the student isn't ready for a lesson. =) Can't wait to hear the stories this painting has to tell.

Read the post the other day showing your friend at the art class and waited in anticipation for the finished product on your end, and I'm sitting here in awe...jaw dropping awe of the beauty in this picture. You've inspired me to go do something creative today.
Thank you for sharing!

God bless your day,

Oh my goodness girl! That is gorgeous. The reason my art is therapy is because it is just piddly messin around. I have tried water color and I too was very stressed. It isn't as easy as it looks. So proud of you for sticking with it and creating such a beautiful painting.

Wow! This turned out amazing. I can't believe this is your first time to work in watercolor...it usually takes a long time to get a feel for the medium. I agree totally that people think it's a light colored swoosh of a medium but as you've shown it can be very vivid. I always enjoyed doing water color like this an surprising people with how bright they can be.

You did a beyond fabulous job. Can't wait to see it framed.

Oh my gosh!! First, I can't believe this is a watercolor--you're right, the depth is so surprising since I thought watercolors were always very 'light.' You did a gorgeous job! You must be so proud of your beautiful work, especially being a novice. It looks like the work of a well-seasoned painter to me.
