Succulent Love...

After "rescuing" this little succulent, I have become fascinated with the beauty of these plants...

I'll have to get more photos later.  When I took my camera out this morning, it just kept fogging over... from the cool house to the humid warmth of the morning.  I will be sharing more about these little guys later.  The big sedum in the back came from my Mom.  She has tons of them and they always look so perfect... rounded, soft green balls of beauty.  I split the one she gave me into three pots.  I hope they live.  =/

I hope they get enough sunlight at the Bungalow... but, they were LIVING on a shaded shelf with no water at Home Depot... so, this has to be a slight improvement over that!  Now, for me not to over water them... that's the next challenge.

Mr. Flamingo can keep an eye on them over his shoulder.  Have a great day ya'll!

Tanna, I love how those are displayed on the trellis. I have not grown succulents before. I am afraid I would over water them. I know what you mean about the camera lens fogging up. Same way here. I wasn't sure if that would show on the pics, but boy it does. Love the flamingo.

I too love the succulent plants! They are so beautiful they ALMOST look plastic! I have a friend that gave me a little pot and I have had a love affair with them since.

Your photos are beautiful.

I've only tried a couple of succulents. I had one that looks like the one in your green pot in the first picture but it got really top heavy and brok off at the stem. The other one is still in one of my windows. I agree that the trick is NOT to over-water them and that is hard.

I LOVE the place you have them and I think pink flamingo will look after them well....lol

I love succulents too. They are some of my favorites...easy to care for and fast growers! Lovely pictures!

So pretty, I love your yard
I had 2 strawberry pots of hens and chicks that my dad gave me.
We lived at the hunting club my husband belongs to for a short while, while building our house....long story short....when I went back to move everything...they were gone!!! Made me sick! Sentimental value!
I need to start another one in his memory...

I loved those when I was in Texas. I have lots of sedum bordering my yardhere in Illinois, as it is a perinneal and comes back each year flowering a bronze foliage in the fall. I'd have a lot of other things if it weren't for having to bring them in and take care of them in the winter.

First of all, love your backyard!! I've been wanting a succulent and just need to go buy one. A nursery down the street is selling everything half off so I'll have to go there this weekend.

Hi Sweet Tanna,
Love the succulents! I've tried growing them a few times..can't seem to prevent myself from giving them too much to drink. But you're doing a wonderful job with them. After I've seen these, makes me want to try again.

It's been a busy week for me. I've been in the studio almost every day working on new creations. I've simply lost my mind over soldering..and guess what..no blistered fingers again this week.

Now if I could just learn not to overwater a succulent, I'd be in business. :)

Sunshine & Friendship,
Terri

I like the way you display them. And are those tiny rocks on top of dirt? Or are they planted in rocks?

Love Mr. Flamingo!

They would be able to suck enough water out of the humidity at my house!
I love Mr Flamingo too.

I love succulents. Wonder why I don't have any! Because I water them to death and they die...
My mother in law used to have a HUGE jade plant and nothing she did killed it.
Great photos.

Christine, yes, those are little rocks on top of the soil. I mixed playground sand with Miracle Grow potting soil to help them drain better (when I inevitably over-water them) and then put pea gravel on top... thought it would look good. lol! The jury is still out on whether they will survive living at the Bungalow! ;)
