Hints of Fall

While most of my blog friends have been busy decorating for fall, I just haven't felt it.  We are predicted to set another record high today and our poor trees have been brown for such a long time... not fall-kind of brown, stressed-and-dying-kind of brown.  It really makes me sad.

But, there is rumor of a cool front blowing in tomorrow.  No promise of rain, but coolness.  And, I think that my compulsion impulse to lay down my soft blue alpaca project last night for this beautiful fallish, winterish color is the first hint that I may be beginning to feel like fall is on the way.

I am so excited with the way this has started out!!  I am simply lovin' it!  Hopefully, I will be posting a finished object soon.  ;)  It has been crazy busy with a new remodel in the works and the usual business of life.

My friend, Patrice, framed another of my watercolors for me.  I'm getting in the mood for more painting, too.  The remodel project will have space for a studio to paint.  Motivation to speed along.  ;)

I did get another little Entrelac Hat made last weekend for one of my friends.  Susan, of Days at Buttermilk Cottage, has made some really beautiful ones, too.  Check them out if you get a chance.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!  Bring on the Fall!  blessings ~ Tanna

I'm really struggling to make that picture be a watercolor. I hate to be argumentative, and I understand that you are the artist but, I'm sorry, it's obviously a photograph.

And I have to say that your new shawl is my favorite so far. It's partly the colorway (definitely would go with most of my wardrobe), partly the pattern (which I am in love with) and I think that the stunning presentation is also responsible. That bird with that yarn, the visual texture provided by the brick and board and book... Wow! Of course, what else could one expect from Tanna!

Blessings, Debbie

I don't blame you for not fall decorating yet. I waited till it was actually fall and it will actually feel like it this weekend. Love your painting. Amazed at how someone can paint a glass object that really looks like real glass.

You need to finish that project as it will probably be cool in Roanoke and the color is perfect!! I have to admit that every time we get more rain, I feel guilty that my Texas friends are so dry. The water color is spectacular. To be able to capture that beautiful glass vase shows amazing talent in my artful opinion!! I've been checking out those beautiful hats.

Best,
Bonnie

The colors in that yarn are absolutely gorgeous! Definitely something I would choose. And that watercolor. Wow! Entralac looks like it would be difficult but I'm sure you whipped it up in no time. Happy Thursday! Tammy

I agree with No Spring Chicken, it looks like a photograph! Unbelievable!

I have been praying for all of Texas.
Our friends in Dalhart keep telling us horrible stories about the weather.

You do beautiful knitting. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Continue to pray for Texas.

You know how much I love fall, right? I mean, I had Jerry install a screen door a few weekends ago so that I could enjoy it. And our weather is definitely of the fallish variety. But I'm so excited about Christmas and coming to see you that I'm just itching for fall to be gone already! Trying not to wish it away. Love you and your beautiful projects! Xoxoxo

I know what you mean. I am longing for the cooler temps of fall. 100 degrees at the end of Sept. is just frustrating. Your knitting projects are beautiful! And your watercolor...wow! Amazing!

I feel your pain regarding the hot weather! I just now decided to break out my fall decor for my front porch. I'll be sharing that in a post soon. Hang in there! I think there is relief in sight.

Yesterday, driving to church, I thought how "brown" everything looked. The sky was gray and the sun was hidden. It was a damp, gray, brown day....

We received record rains this spring. There was a small area of west central Indiana that was identified as being in severe drought...that was us. We had record heat days and then, just last week we set a record for rainfall in late September. The only blessing to the rain was that at least I am not worrying about another combine fire this year.

It is sometimes difficult to remain "up". I live in dry agriculture and I travel to work among others living within a similar fate.

Still...there is a lot of love to go around!

Tomorrow Nancy is hosting Cooper's b'day party here. She is having a pumpkin decorating contest (with no winners/losers). No carving allowed. A short story to go with the pumpkin. She showed me the invite and I immediately said I knew what I would do...which she found disgusting. : )

Spray adhesive, glitter....James W. Riley's poem "The Frost is on the Pumpkin..."

Brown days and a home filled with laughter.

LOVE your watercolor!!!!

Many Blessings ~ Sandi

Hi Tanna

It still has been rather warm here -- and rainy -- so I haven't gotten into the auttumn spirit yet, myself. It is supposed to cool down this weekend.

This watercolor is so exquisite. The crystal bowl looks so real!

Your knitting project looks very pretty and the hat is so colorful and fun!

Hi Tanna..

I am so ready for that cool front to move in here...and oh how I would love for us to get several inches of rain...My husband has worked himself crazy trying to keep all the pecan trees and fruit trees watered. Irrigating has been so difficult because of the lack of water in the lack and even the wells now.
Love the picture and girl, you are so talented at knitting...Cute, cute hat!
I sure hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend...Maybe "First Monday??"
Blessings,
Shug

I think I'll be ready for autumn when the Maple tree starts to drop leaves. I have been hunting for color changes around here, but haven't see too much red yet. It'll probably happen overnight and then be covered in snow!

I do love that pattern you're using with your new yarn. I see that little wiggle in there -- it's so neat!

I just love that you love pumpkin pie for your birthday! Even better that it is made from a recipe passed down made with love and sweet memories! Those are the very very BEST!

p.s. I'm nursing a bit of a knee injury I think this has slowed me up enough to pursue those knitting needles now, maybe it's a sign.

Fall always does remind me of knitting and quilting! Love the yarn and I can't wait to see what you are up to with it. I think you are just going to give me that nudge to knit the afghan I have been planning all summer. That is something I can sit on the couch and do!

Oh late getting here...so I had to scroll down for 10 minutes...LOL

We have had such a bad summer...still no rain here, lightening storms but no rain...I pray God will be merciful to all of us in this change of season and bring some much needed rain and cooler temps.

Love your projects...the painting is beautiful...can't wait to see more of your paintings and of course the knitting
