Bah-Nilla to "Not Bad..". Exterior Changes

So, this was the "before" of the Big Bah-Nilla's front door...

Plain white... No shutters... The recessed doorway made it really plain...

The "during"... Enter new doors... These were discontinued at a local lumbar yard, so we got a really good deal.  I have LOVED this type siding forever... there isn't much; but, for me it made all the difference...

Note:  this was not a DIY project for us... brick had to be knocked out... openings resized... You get the picture.   We used Healey Homes and were very happy with their work.

The "after"... shutters were made from the same cedar we used to trim out the door.  Siding was painted Anew Gray by Sherwin Williams.  We used Black Fox to tint the stain for the door and shutters.  And, stuck to white trim because of the windows and gutters, which are white.

The entrance is still recessed... But, at least now it makes you want to look a little deeper into the hole... LOL... This was taken before we had put on the new hardware; somehow, I managed to DELETE all my post remodel photos (these are from my phone) and it is just too cold and dreary for me to make more today.

Where the Big Bah-Nilla used to be just plain Jane... Now, she's "Not bad..." This spring and summer I hope to tackle the landscape issues and create some welcoming features.  The list never ends...

Linking with Kim's Wow Us Wednesdays... A treasure trove of ideas.  ;)

Wow, such a huge difference!! The new door is wonderful and so are the other additions too! It is amazing what changing just one or two things can do isn't it. xx

Gorgeous doors, Tanna and I love those shingles, too and wish we could add them to our house somewhere, but that won't be happening. You are all linked up and thanks for joining.

I like the shutters. They are like eyelashes for the windows. You have "painted" her up beautifully.
Well done!

Wow, it just looks great!! My son had floor plans all across his table last night and I had so much fun looking through them...I really love remodeling and new home construction. Great job. As for cloudy, cold and just not our Texas sun weather, well I hear we will have it this weekend!

Not so Banilla anymore! What a transformation with the gray, the shutters and the new front by the door. What a good eye you have to figure out how to transform it! As for the little squares--I could see either. What a striking vest or jacket. but a throw as well … my guess is you may know by March ...

You certainly have a talent for seeing a vision and making it happen...even if you didn't actually do the work. It's lovely!

Couldn't you come up this way and be my neighbour for a year? I'd be inviting you for tea every week, just for your ideas.......and for the conversation...of course!
I like your re-done front door, especially the colours you've chosen.

If, and when we buy a house, I'm calling you in for renovations and decoration. Ha! What a difference that entryway makes. Very colonial looking now ... dark wood with white accents. I like it a lot! Good job! Hugs, Tammy

Love the new door and entry way! I think the eye naturally gets drawn into the space, can't wait to see what kind of landscaping you decide to do.
