STUCK...

People, I am stuck. stuck. stuck. on this sweater... the one that was supposed to help revive my knitting mojo. Ha!

I am frozen with fear that I will hate it like all the other sweaters I've made (most have found homes elsewhere).  I have LOVED working and holding this wonderfully soft yarn... Now, it's time to bind off the hem and start the sleeves... it's been that time for a couple of weeks now...  and, nothing.

I don't want to hate it when I'm through; but, I'm about to have to just "back my ears" and finish it!! If I hate it, surely this will be the last sweater I start (for myself). Please.

I did find a bit of Happy last week!!  And, I finished OTHER projects... Diversions!

Hoping each of you are making better progress with things you've started than I have!

Let's hope you like it ~ it looks great from here . . . if I had a go at it the result would certainly be a right dog's breakfast . . . :)

One day I will pull out sweaters my first manager made for me..and take photos of the stitches..she was a brilliant knitter ..like you are.
I think you would sense the same love of yarn..you both share..shared.
The color and stitches are gorgeous..
Keep going:)

OK, I have the solution. Don't put sleeves in it, make it a vest, and it you still don't like it, I'll send you my address... HaHa.

I love vests, and as soon as I saw it, thought what a cute vest for summer.

As always, you will figure it out...

Tanna: It is a beautiful pattern. I love the soft white. I have frozen on every knitting project except two. One was my first sweater. It was beautiful. It was made with the finest of yarn. It wouldn't go over my head!!!!! Instead of being frozen, I unraveled the whole thing and forgot about it. The next was my one successful project. A sweet baby shawl for my great niece Olivia. Keep on knitting and purling!

Best,
Bonnie

I just know you'll get over this hurdle! Then again....perhaps it should be a vest!

I agree with Wanda, it would make a very pretty vest. Good Luck!

Oh my goodness, it looks so pretty. I hope you end up liking that sweater.

I agree with the other girls. It looks perfect like it is, can it be a vest? Maybe that's the answer. Sleeves are overrated. Lol Love how it looks, yummy!!

This sweater reminds of a wonderful soft Irish knit, Tanna! I would be very surprised if you did not like it. In fact I can't believe you dislike any of the sweaters you've made in the past as I thought they were all beautiful!

I loved your last RAK watercolor card and the book gift from your daughter was very sweet!

Can you make it into a vest? That's what I thought it was at first. It's a beautiful color and the knitting looks great to me! It will be pretty when you finish, I'm sure!

Your readers rule-we will all take the sweater or vest if you should leave off the sleeves! I am in line:)
I love it!
Many hugs and blessings,

Best wishes for a victorious finish to the sweater, and may you love it... after all, something about the pattern must have captured your interest, or you wouldn't have begun the sweater in the first place :)
Personally, I think everything you make is beautiful, and every project you undertake turns out successful!
You always inspire me :)

I hope you don't mind my saying but if you don't like it now....you might not like it when it's finished. Put it away for two to three weeks. Pull it out and if your gut says 'meh' rip it out. if your gut says 'well maybe...' keep knitting :)

I've ripped out entire sweaters because I dislike them, but I do hope you love it in the end.

oh, give this poor sweater a chance to be loved!!! Think of it blocked....!!! I once put a sweater in time out (needing just its buttons0 because 'it wasn't what i wanted it to be'; i found it years later----and for the life of me, i can't figure out why i didn't love it at first try-on. it's one of my favorites. (and I remember almost ripping the whole thing out. eeeek)

Okay, I've been there too and have a few sweaters that I've knitted that NO one wears!!! LOL However, look at how great you look wearing the Peasy Sweater you knit and what about the one you knit for you and your friend (don't remember pattern, I think it was red)! This sweater is going to be just fine; it's a great pattern and I'm it is going to work out perfectly.....move forward, Friend!

Just know, you are not alone. I have often simply left a project, keep looking at it, and do nothing with it. I truly feel that if the yarn and the pattern do not end up loving it other, it is best to simply quite and unravel. Diversions are good. You need a break from this. Hugs.

The yarn really is gorgeous. I bet that is hard to put so much effort into something you're not crazy about. Sounds like some of my projects - ha!

It is too bad that you don't like this sweater Tanna. It looks so nice to me. Perhaps you need to take a little time to step away from this project and start again next week.

I have made so many sweaters I have not loved, even some I have never worn, but I still keep it up. I seem to have this sweater obsession, or maybe it is just a yarn obsession that takes sweater form. I think it is gorgeous, and if it doesn't fit it was meant for someone else. It would be a stunning gift.
Hugs and good luck with the finish.

I would be dizzy with all that cable . . . BUT it looks beautiful! Wonderful and cuddly too! Are the sleeves cable as well? I hope you get some more mojo so we can see you model it just for us!

I think the sweater looks great. I do hope you love it once it's finished...but if not, I loved how you said you always find them a home. Blessings always sweet friend. :)

Well, even if you don't like the sweater, it will be lovely for someone else. A friend at work started a sweater umpty-ump times and finally gave up because her count kept being off. Now she is crocheting a baby afghan with the same repeat row. Just what she needs since she's already got enough on her daily plate. :) Best wishes, Tammy

Looks nice to me! And I'll bet that blocking will make it look even nicer. Someone will like it, even if it ends up that you don't! But, I hope you do!
