These little birds were a gift from Amanda a long time ago... they STILL make me smile every time I look at them. The stack of quotes is a favorite souvenir from an adventure while visiting the Little Men & Co. in Virginia... and, how could those beautiful pink blossoms not bring a smile? Joy.
The Solid Square by Marinke Slump gave a perfect weight to this cotton/silk/rayon blend to go on this slipcovered chaise lounge. It sits in the sunroom with the birds... and quotes... and flowers... and yarn... and patterns... a nest of sorts. Afghan details are here on Ravelry.
Marinke, also known as Wink, was a wonderful blogger/crocheter who lost her battle with depression in 2015. She is still missed. I thought of her often doing these squares.
Our community/city, Hideaway, Texas, has Park Parties almost every Friday night when the weather is good. Music, food, friends, fun. Ten couples/folks go in together and host the party with each one inviting ten couples/friends; each party has a different "theme". The theme for this one was Send in the Clowns and our friend, Betty, was one of the hosts. So. Much. Fun!
And, oh, the fun with these two Littles! We crafted away the whole Saturday afternoon! On top of all the crafting, they made cupcakes for their Momma and cheesecake for their Daddy (birthdays)!
At the end of a LONG day, we were "chilling" and watching Trolls... for the humpeenth time... I started knitting. Then, Miss B asked if she could knit, too. OF COURSE! Let me find you some yarn and needles! So, she worked along for a good bit and, then... Karsyn asked if she could knit, too. OF COURSE. More yarn and needles.
I have to say there were a lot of "I have a problem, Noni"s. LOL! But, these girls caught on so fast! I was amazed. B is only 5 and she was knitting away. She ended up with a blanket for her Barbie. Karsyn's project is still in progress and I look forward to her working on it some more on her next visit. What a treat!
Next morning, we met these two for brunch and birthday celebrations! Zack's was the 16th and Candice's was the 21st. I can hardly believe my BABY is 35. I still remember holding him for the first time like it was yesterday. Sweet memories.
We enjoyed a weekend of making more sweet memories to add to the collection... How fast time goes by...
"Try to make at least one person happy every day. If you cannot do a kind deed, speak a kind word. If you cannot speak a kind word, think a kind thought. Count up, if you can, the treasure of happiness that you would dispense in a week, in a year, in a lifetime. " ~ Lawrence C Lovasik

I finished my little afghan of solid crochet squares. Love it! I'll share more info later.
My Beloved and I recently enjoyed Grandparent Day with our Little Men. Quite the day! The boys were so very sweet showing us around their school. I'm so proud of these Loves.
These roses won Flowers of the Walk this morning. Sooooo beautiful!
Made me whip out the watercolors... oh, it's been so long! This is the first pass at it. We will see where it goes from here! Ha! Maybe the trash can! LOL! Those of you who have seen me mess with watercolors before know I have a hard time finding the place to STOP! It's not like knitting or crochet where you have a specific place to start and end; and, for a person with slight perfectionist tendencies, it can be almost impossible to find the quitting place! If you know anything about watercolor... there is definitely a place where you have just gone TOO FAR. More to be revealed.
I'll leave you with a little chuckle. Our tournament this week was Diva Day, as we hosted the Nine Hole Ladies, who on the whole are much more "well dressed" than we, the 18 Hole Ladies, are. I'm with my friend, Cynthia (one of my regular peeps and who was one of the chairs of this fun event). The wind BLEW and I molted everywhere! Ha! I'm thankful I don't have all these "accessories" on my normal rounds. We did have lots of FUN!
I hope each of you find a LITTLE JOY, a reason to smile this week...
I hope you hold that joy and let it seep deep inside...
I believe we mostly find what we look for in life. Doesn't mean there aren't bad things and tough days. Just means that our everyday lives are colored by our "vision".
See the GOOD. Be the GOOD.

The beauty of spring continues... though our temperatures dropped into the upper thirties this past weekend and will again this coming one. You'll also note the yellow/green haze all over the porch and rails. I had cleaned and mopped the whole thing just a couple of days before this photo. I hope we are getting to the end of the big pollen invasion. LOL!
On one of my recent walks, I spotted this beautiful yellow Iris.
It was HUGE! As large as my hand! Just gorgeous!
Our ladies golf association is in full swing and I'm taking my turn as president this year. They are keeping me hopping! I so enjoy this group of ladies. The ones in the photo are my usual peeps to play with (we all walk and have similar handicaps). We get our exercise, enjoy (or not) our round of golf and share our lives. It's a good thing.
In my bits of extra time, I've been making little squares... and have begun to assemble them into an afghan. The yarn is so soft. It's going to go perfectly with a little sunflower pillow I have. Makes me smile.
Spring has been a roller coaster across this continent. Many of my blog friends have had snowy days for their spring, giving rise to the new term, Sprinter-- when spring turns back to winter. Ha! I'm wishing for everyone at least one sunny day this next week!

Just a purge of precious memories...
My herd of Little Loves... getting way too big!
Pop Pop giving the parameters of the hunt...
On your mark... get set... GO...
This Little found two of the three golden eggs...
There may have been a melt down... Just sayin'... This Little did not find a golden egg...
Her Daddy readily confessing that the apple did not fall far from the tree... He never liked losing either... LOL! But, all a part of life, isn't it? He still doesn't like it, but has learned to be a bit more gracious. LOL. Our B, well... she has a way to go...
The confetti eggs are always a HIT, literally...
Hope you all had a beautiful and blessed Easter...
He is RISEN!
