A Grateful Heart...

I really can't begin to tell you how grateful I am for the prayers, care and well wishes we received.  We are blessed beyond measure.

Evan had complete relief of the severe pain in his leg on waking from surgery.  The numb areas will take time to improve, but the horrible pain is gone.  We are infinitely grateful.

As for myself, I am in awe of the power of prayer.  While some might pass the miracle of Evan's pain relief off as the skill of the surgeon (and that certainly plays no small part), my own relief from fear and worry can have no other explanation than God's hand.  And, it was the prayers of others that brought that peace for me.  I could. not. even. ask. it for myself.  At one point last week, the fear was so strong it almost took my breath.

Twenty-five years in the operating room has left me with a few haunting memories of "routine" procedures that should have gone perfectly well... but, they didn't.  They were few and far between... but, my memory has always been good...  And, my grief for those patients has never waned.  Sometimes, life just isn't fair.

However, the day of Evan's surgery... I was at perfect peaceThank you to all who prayed.  For both of us.

I'll leave you with this quote for today...

And, gratitude beyond expression...

So happy to hear this! I know that amazing peace that comes at just the right time. There is no other explanation other than God is giving it to you. And yes, it usually comes when your loved one is in the operating room! So thankful for your peace and your husbands good outcome! Yay!

Such a relief that all went well, and that the healing is beginning.
Of course we are happy to offer prayers on your behalf, and on the behalf of your family members.
It's cause we love ya!!!

Overjoyed to ready this, Tanna. God is faithful and good and hears our prayers and delights to answer. You both have been much in my thoughts and prayers. I know the fear you speak of--and the peace on surgery morning. Nothing short of miraculous. Gary too awoke knowing the pain was gone. So wonderful. He finally saw the surgeon this week and is "above the curve" in spite of his two setbacks during recovery. So we are very, very thankful. He walked 1.5 miles yesterday and starts PT later this week. Will continue praying for Evan's recovery and your strength in taking care of him!

Glad to hear the surgery went well. I feel the same way you do whenever I know someone is to have an operation. Even when my husband had his procedure a couple of months ago, I was afraid ... it was routine, but as you said, sometimes things don't go as planned. Back pain sure is debilitating. I'm glad your husband has relief now. Sending hugs and blessings, Tammy
