The Birthday Boy and Speed...

I can't let this month slip past without sharing some of The Birthday Boy's Speed Adventures.  Our Little Man turned three earlier this month and we were blessed to spend the weekend celebrating with him.  This boy LOVES. HIM. SOME. SPEED, a.k.a. Lightening McQueen.

On the initial launch, there were several mishaps... Pop Pop had to do several rescues.

But, by afternoon... in a open space, it was nothing but speeeeeed....

I don't know who laughed more... him or his Momma and me...

Of course, it wasn't long before Roo and I had to start taking evasive measures!!

It just doesn't seem like three years should have passed so quickly.  These precious years that they love for you to do things with them are speeding past... then the friends and school.. and activities... and friends and college... and friends and work all take more and more of their focus... I hate this time is slipping by so fast... but, I am grateful for the moments we do share... they are treasures in my soul.

And, Little Man's appreciation of these times is one of my greatest treasures... His Momma and Daddy have taught him well.

The week is whizzing past!  Enjoyed coffee yesterday with my step-daughter.  Such a nice pick-me-up in the afternoon!  Have a little more work left on The Old Girl.  Finished the Cloud Illusions shawl... love it.  I'll share photos soon.  I'm off to the bank and errands (then a quick trip to Rose Path, the LYS) perhaps!  ;)  blessings to all ~ tanna

He is just the cutest race car driver I've ever seen!

You're so right about that time flying by. I have four grandbaby birthdays between now and mid-September. And only one is still a baby!

First off. Luckiest. Blogger. Ever. Another win? Seriously? Your win count almost inspires me to sign up for some of those every now and again. ;-)

Your angel wing/breath of an angel/arms of an angel shawl is one of my favorites, too. Wow. It looks so delicate and soft. Like so many other things in life, sometimes the best of what we love can take the hardest work. It may be good that I'm not there to model it, or the angel wings might just come wrap themselves around me and take flight. =)

And, yes, our Little Man does love him some Speed, doesn't he? Goodness gracious, I might need to track down a Mater for the Roodle to drive and get LM and Speed out of the ditch! LOL! Hysterical!!! Sure did enjoy our visit with you. Looking forward to the next one - in Texas this time!! xoxo

In picture #2, too funny expressions on their faces! Out of control! I remember one of my boys doing the same - barreling straight down the hill on his bicycle - that face! That memory! I'm smiling here. Time's flying by. Glad you were able to spend time with your family. What a blessing!

how thoughtful that your daughter made the hand print (and so cute too!). That would be framed forever in my home, until the next hand print shows up.

Cute photos, Tanna! That Lightning McQueen sure has lots of fans, doesn't he? A quick visit to the LYS can be costly,eh? I made a quick stop at the nearby embroidery shop and did rather well in less than 15 minutes. Hee hee.

Grandchildren are the diaminds in life's crown, Tanna. I know what you mean about them growing up so fast, but quality times like these make wonderful memories for both us and them!

Such unimpeded joy on that little face. I do kinda miss those days ... when my boys found such pleasure and curiosity in the world around them. I love, love, love, love, love ... did I say LOVE that little handprint elephant. In all my years of teaching, I did tons of handprint projects, but never an elephant. Cute as cute can be. You changed things up over here ... looks good. Have a lovely day. Tammy

You have captured special moments between you and the grandchildren and they will remember each moment because you love them so much.
I have to say, your daughter is so very special(and talented), also! Those Thank You cards she sends you are precious.

Have fun driving Jubilee, while running errands! That is STYLE.

How adorable! I well remember the photo of him mailing the invitation. I'm glad the birthday was so fun.

Happy Birthday to your precious little man! (If I had to pick a favorite age for children, it would be three. I love three. )

What a happy look on Alex's face!! I learned to "drive" on those same streets but the car was far from exciting!! I'll be on the lookout for "Speed" and his adorable driver this fall.

Best,
Bonnie

Wow - has it already been 3 years, Tanna? Look how that little man #1 has grown, and his little brother is right behind him.

Boys DO love their cars don't they! Even at 3. I just think it's in their nature... guess Pop pop got his workout!

Your angellic shawl is just gorgeous. It seems to float on the model. It'll be so lovely this fall and winter on YOU. Have a wonderful weekend...
