Willy Nilly Friday 5
1) Met this sweet guy and his momma in Canton last week for the First Monday Trades Day. I think it is the first time I've ever been there without a single purchase (food doesn't count, does it?). But, time with this one made it a joy and worthwhile!!
2) Driving the back roads. LOVE East Texas in the spring time. You can sort of make out the beautiful wild flowers in the fields. They are just beautiful!
3) Asunder. Brings home how quickly things can be ripped asunder.
4) Life and brightness among death and decay. Looks like I'm going to have to replace this one; I don't think it's coming back this time!!
5) Survivor. This little cactus has bloomed every year since I received it as a favor from one of my dear friend's daughter's wedding shower (2013). I've never even given it a good home... its soil has dwindled over time and it sporadically gets tended... yet it blooms. Amazing. Its beautiful blossoms always remind me of them. And, how... out of hard... places beauty can be created.
Joining Tanya for Willy Nilly Friday 5 at Around Roanoke, VA.
"Finally be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of truth, and righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. "

So glad you were able to spend some time with your loved ones. I just love Spring time, too. All the pretty green and flowers. The cactus flower is lovely. No truer words ever spoken than what you wrote when you said, "It's beautiful blossoms always remind me.....of out of hard places beauty can be created."
Blessings to you always my sweet friend. :) ((hugs))
#1 a great pair
#2 backroads, my kind of place
#3 looks like this area after our strong winds
#4 rebirth
#5 cactus, my kind of plant...little or no work.
What sweet hugs from a darling little lad. And, BTW, I love your crocheted sweater/jacket/cover thing. Did you do it?
Loved this all about life post. Of course the first photo is my favorite -- your young man is growing up. And love seeing your handiwork displayed on you! Beautiful. Have a good weekend, and here's to more backroads!
oh spring! so nice to see it somewhere, but should say that our daffodils are blooming so we have that. I love your tenacious cactus!!
Canton is always fun as long as you do it before the heat of summer sets in. I love it. That cactus flower is a beauty! Sweet picture of you and your grandson.
A darling photo! You both are so cute and have wonderful smiles. That's an amazing flower on the cactus, does it just produce one? If so, it's a stunner for sure.
Glad no one was under the tree when it fell.
Have a good weekend, and thank you for the reminder to "be strong in the Lord,''

The Ca thus is beautiful...how about some new soil and a spiffy new pot? Hahaha!
Crazy winds here today...and SNOW overnight!😳

Linda :o)
Such a shame about the tree, but gosh, the cactus flower is beautiful isn't it!
Hi Tanna, Thanks for visiting me via Willy Nilly! Nice to meet you. What a sweet photo of you both. I live in GA and we are enjoying spring green too! Your cactus bloom is so colorful. I also enjoyed the passage from Ephesians. God bless your weekend.
Cute first pictures....Aw. He's really growing!
You're taking that purging thing seriously! I've done the same thing lately...shop and not buy anything. It's all about perspective. haha.
Yes, I would think that cactus needs a new pot and soil! lol..... gorgeous bloom!
Hi, Tanna...thanks for visiting my blog. Is that your grandson? Grandchildren make life worthwhile! We only have the one granddaughter and I don't know what we would do without her!
I enjoyed your Five...I looked at your profile...and we have several likes in common. Not that mine are mentioned in my profile. (Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton)
And I hardly hear anyone mention Finding Forrester and we loved it, as well as Driving Miss Daisy, Grand Torino, and Steel Magnolias.
I love how you see God's lessons in all the world around you...and then you share them with us. You are a blessing. Love, d.
love the willy-nilly approach to a week in review!!!
so agree.....the time spent with those littles is what life is all about!!!! (and they don't stay 'little' long enough!!!!)
like you loyal cactus....I have an orchid that thrives and blooms with my neglect. I sometimes think I should treat it better, but chances are....it wouldn't do as well. Enjoy the weekend. Hope you have lots of chances to make new memories!!
He's so handsome..you make a fine pair..lots of fun ics here..that little green leprauchaun sure stands out:)
And I wuv your sweater!
Happy weekend to you:)
Love the pic of you wearing one of your creations with your sweet grandson. This time of year is pretty with all the new growth on the trees. That fresh vibrant green is stunning and invigorating. I enjoyed our drive to Texas and all the Texas wildflowers that are different from ours.
Your cactus bloom is incredible. God is amazing and has a plan for everything.
I got chill bumps reading Ephesians 6 in your post.
Enjoy the weekend, Tanya. I'm still catching up after being away.
I can't believe how that sweet boy has grown!! I'm curious as to their new abode. Are they redoing it like the one "back home"? I loved seeing those before and after photos and knowing exactly where they were!!
It's hard to kill a cactus but I've mastered it more than once!! Happy spring.
Best,
Bonnie
I love your back round photos - you have such a great eye. The cactus is gorgeous and I'm sure it will love it's new home. And so glad you got your little men fix! He is such a handsome little man. Where has the time gone? Happy weekend sweet Tanna!

Just became a new follower of your blog.
I so enjoyed your randoms.
Texas country side is so pretty.
Loving that bright green lizard and the pretty cacti.
Your grandson looks so much like you, Tanna. Glad you were able to do a fun Easter egg hunt in your yard( prior post). You are taking out pansies and we are waiting to plant them...lol. We can still get snow at our altitude.
I love the scarlet blooms of cactus--I see wild one beginning to pop up here in our foothills--I'm always amazed to see them grow here.
Have a very Happy and Blessed Easter!
Great post, Tanna! Love the photo of you and your GS. Nice vest you're wearing also. Have a wonderful Easter!
I do like a willy nilly kind of day when it has so many lovely things in it. And no, food does not count :-)
