Gray Days...

It has been very, very gray lately.  I'm convinced that God gave us seasons to teach us that 'this too shall pass'.   And... that the Light will always come...

The signs of that are all around us...  A spot of brightness in the gloom.

Or... perhaps my very favorite plant... cuttings from Mom's sedums.  In the most bleak days of winter they BEGIN to emergeA herald of hope.  I know the beautiful plant they will become... as they press forth from these dark days.

It comforts me when I see a loved one struggle with dark days to know that God is always at work... a.l.w.a.y.s. at workUnder the dead leaves, new life is pushing forth.  It will be beautiful.

In the cold gray, I've snuggled under a blanket and begun work on the border... binding off The Big Easy II.  It's a long way around...

But, I'm making good progress...

Not quite halfway yet... But, it's coming!  ;)

For God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. ~ II Corinthians 4:6

May you feel the Light around us this week...

Up here winter has turned a corner and buds and bulbs are beginning to emerge. The Big Easy 11 is looking good! I am spending my 'sitting and waiting' hours knitting a Hudson Bay style blanket for a grandson's room. It's lovely to have a project. Also lovely? Seeing your blog again! I am not at that stage yet but have not given up on blogging.

HI Tanna...
Very mild winter so far, here in Southern Ontario. A few of my Iris are poking their heads up!
I too love Sedums...they emerge and grow to their glorious pink blossoms in late Summer.
The Bumble Bees and Monarch butterflies love them!
Have a great week!
Cheers!
Linda :o)

Things are popping up and growing (Big Easy 11), in your neck of the woods.
Still under two feet of snow here with temps in the single digits.

But.... soon....the.... sun.... will.... pop out!
I'm ready!

So love seeing the progress on your shall. It already is looking warm and cozy. :)

I feel that if there are not dark days, then how would we ever truly appreciate the bright days. Oh yes, He is always working behind the scenes for our good. We might not always understand why but we always know it is for our good. We see through glass darkly, but one day, we will understand.

Blessings to you my sweet friend. ((hugs)).

We've had nothing but cold, rainy, gray days lately. I could use a little sunshine! Your shawl looks like it's coming along beautifully. Can't wait to see it when you are done :) You're such a pretty model!

Nice photos, Tanna. It's so nice having you back posting again. It's been cold and gray here, too, but our freezing temps seem to have left us thankfully, and the "sunrise" or should I say light is a little earlier each day, and sunset is a tiny bit later also. Your BE is looking good! Nice work.

Thank you for the inspiration . . .
Grey, rain, ice here . . .
The "light" will return!
I found a teeny, tiny new leaf on a violet plant this morning.
I had almost given up . . . it has been more than a year.

super gray here but I don't mind. Most of the time! Lovely pops of color on your dreary days and that shawl is looking awesome!

Beautiful post, Tanya and so much truth and wisdom. We too are having gray days, which I love because if feels like a little winter. There's always beauty to see if we look, and yes, light always comes! Can you imagine if it didn't?

We had a bit of sunshine yesterday, but back to gray today along with some rain. We need the rain and I don't really mind cloudy days, but we've had such a long stretch of them I'm now ready for spring. :) Wise words in this lovely post! And I see a beautiful shawl that is coming along nicely! Love the color. Cheryl

We had a very gray day this morning but by late afternoon it seemed to be clearing up. You've captured a whole lot of beauty in the grayness. Your knitwork is always so lovely.

Dark gray days with pouring rain is tough. I still miss Seattle though.
