Glimpses of Sea Island, GA

I'm not sure I've ever been to a more beautiful place than Sea Island...

Developed in 1926... it still has an OLD feel even though the original buildings have long been replaced at the hotel...

There was beach walking... and relaxing...

Sight seeing...

And, a wonderful bicycle tour... The marsh on the west side of the island looked like something straight out of a Nicolas Sparks novel.

The beautiful old homes with giant moss laden oaks were a delight to see...

AND, there was cooking school at The Georgian Room, Georgia's only Five Star restaurant.  I've always wanted to cook in a BIG kitchen!  Ha!

Yep, we made these, with lots of help of course.  {smile}

Rest and relaxation at its finest...

Now, back to the real world... {sigh...}

What a very beautiful getaway and that last shot looks like it is out of an Agatha Christie novel.

What a beautiful place! I've never been but will be looking into it now. So happy you had a great, relaxing vacation. I'm looking forward to mine in late August. I hope to ride bicycles, kayak, lay on a beach and relax. Now I want to see if I can find a cooking school nearby. Your desserts are gorgeous - such an amazing presentation :)

What a wonderful trip! I bet the cooking class was so much fun....I would love that. Wait! You went on a bicycle tour? Well, now you can come with me to the Tetons. Pack your bags....I'll be in Dallas/Ft. Worth in a couple of days. I'll swing by and pick you up.

Those beautiful trees are huge when you see them compared to the people!
And what a great idea to serve food on planks of wood (or slices of wood).

Welcome back, refreshed and tan!

Wow, what a great getaway. If you are going to do some R&R this is the place to do it ;-) I'd love to take our trailer and park by the beach somewhere and listen to the waves hitting the shore.

What a wonderful sounding getaway! I can see from your photos that it is very beautiful there. So much to see and do. I might skip the cooking part as I'm trying to do less and less of it. lol! The food does look delicious!
