Random Acts of Kindness Adventure 2015...

Betsy, at My Five Men is hosting a Random Act of Kindness project for the Fridays in February. Betsy is an amazing mother and wife.  Her blog has been a LONG TIME favorite of mine.  She has such a kind heart and sees beauty in everyday life in a way that inspires the rest of us to do the same.

So... I had some little hearts I had made for an event that I was unable to attend...

Added just a tad of watercolor fun...

A simple cardstock backing... with one of my favorite scriptures...

Taped them together...

And, sacked it all up in a vellum envelope... I love vellum.  ;)

Then, it was ready to drop off... in a mailbox of a little lady I do not know...  I frequently drive past her home in my weekly travels; and, during the early hours of summer mornings, I would see her working alone in her yard... Her well-tended yard.

I just hope it made her smile... and not think some crazy was out there dropping things in her mailbox.

This little heart is fun to make and a free pattern: Granny Sweet Heart Pattern by Nancy Drew.  I left off one row since it was as big as I wanted them to be.

I don't think Random Acts of Kindness need to be anything more than a friendly smile or a kind word... Kindness can CHANGE my day.  I believe even these small offerings can change other folks' day, too.  On my best days, I intentionally try to offer those tender mercies to those I meet.  Other days, I drink them in like my life depended on that sweet kindness of strangers...

I hope today you will fill or be filled...

Maybe, you will even join us...

"Keep on loving each other as brothers. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it."  Hebrews 13:1-2

What a wonderful gesture of kindness. It reminded me a little of being a child, picking a bouquet of flowers, and leaving it on an old neighbor woman's doorstep. We would knock, then run and hide, and watch to see the reaction.
PS. Love the scripture verse too.

What a sweet thing to do for that lady. I've always liked the idea of Random Acts of Kindness. "Those who receive such, should perpetuate same."

Love this! It's easy to give to those you love, but a random act of kindness takes intentional work but so worth it, And I like your pretty valentine,

People may forget what you said; people may forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.

I love RAKs and have been doing a whole lot of joy spreading at school. I much prefer doing that than the actual drudgery of work. Everyone needs a little bit of kindness and joy added to their day. Your heart is very pretty. And the watercolor is lovely. I've been making similar hearts -- not quite as big, and just kinda made up the pattern. Will check out the link you've added here. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs and blessings, Tammy

Tanna, this is so precious. Love the heart, but fearful of looking up the pattern as I know I'd want to go buy yarn to make it! I have enough now! The flower painting is priceless. But you made me wonder what kind of paper you used. I still can't look at a paper and figure out what it is. That little lady is going to be thrilled. And I too would love to see her face when she opens this lovely treasure from you. Happy Valentine's Day, Annette
