And, the beat goes on...

Wow.  I'd forgotten how different the kitchen looks from the time we closed on this home until now.  I went back to find a photo of these shelves to show what they were before we took them out.  I was reminded of how much the kitchen has changed.

We needed extra eating space more than we needed more bookshelves.  So, all the shelving and end pieces were removed.  Which means the tile had to be redone also.  Luckily, there were enough extra pieces in the attic.

Corbels were added to support the quartz countertop.  I wanted something very simple and that would least interfere with leg room.

So far, it only has a coat of primer.  The lower cabinets are also getting a coat of Mega Greige, one shade darker than they were.

And, the wainscoting in the dining room is up...

And primed!!  Woo hoo!   Then paint... and a new chandelier... There are two other projects in the works, too.  I hope to be able to share the "AFTERS" soon.

And, the beat goes on... on and on and on....

I'm heading to see the Little Men tomorrow.  Hopefully, all the plans will continue without a glitch in my absence!   Being able to receive photos on your phone is a wonderful thing.

"You decide what it is you want to accomplish and then you lay out your plans to get there, and then you just do it.  It's pretty straightforward."  ~ Nancy Ditz

Pretty straightforward... in my experience, there are always a few detours to be navigated.  Still, it is a matter of just doing it and keeping moving.

I love what you've done in the kitchen! The eating area will be very nice.
I agree with you that there are usually detours along the way. The keeping moving is great advice! I need to put a "keep moving" sign up somewhere. haha!
Enjoy your time with the little men!

Pretty much we're counting down the seconds over here until you arrive. Alex has pulled out your coffee coaster and put it next to your bed - in case you want to have your coffee in bed in the mornings. And above his bed is his printout of the two of you at the beach last year. The boy could not be more excited!!! That goes for the rest of us, too. Come on Tuesday!!!!! XOXO

I have the opposite problem. I need more shelves. Lots of kitchen pots, pressure cookers, blenders, etc have no home. Your updates look beautiful.

We have corbels on our kitchen counter, but I didn't know what they were called. Thanks! We are presently messing with a leaking watermain, a definite detour. Who wants to come see a new water pipe? But oh, so needed. LOL, sort of.

That is looking grand. It' s all you can ever ask for in a kitchen, to make it stately and regal enough for the whole cooking and the process of making meals to have to be delicious and worth digging in. That's what the landscape part of kitchens do, plus a whole other endeavor, along with the setting up of the electronics and plumbing. All the best with that!
