Green The Whole Year 'Round

Pattern:   Green the Whole Year 'Round by Ana Yamamoto.
Yarn:  Madelinetosh Tosh DK in Whiskers colorway

I started this shawl the first of the year... and then was immediately side-tracked by the Bohemian Rhapsody.  I really cannot recall when I finished it with all the craziness we have been enduring enjoying.

Anna Yamamoto offers this pattern for free.  It is a bit of a challenge though.  I always take on a "harder" project after the Little Men & Co. head home from their December stay.  FORCES me to put my attention on something other than a quiet house.

Part of the reason I chose Green the Whole Year 'Round is that I loved the scriptures throughout the pattern:

"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.   And, he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in this season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. " ~ Psalm 1: 1-3

"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." ~ 3 John 1:2

Amen and amen.

I confess to finishing the last part of this shawl by doing plain garter short rows because I just didn't have it in me at the time to pay enough attention to stay in pattern.  I loved the way it came out though.

Thank you, Anna Yamamoto, for a beautiful design.  I think I may need to do it again in a fingering weight... Not now, though.

Saving a Mother's (Noni's) Day memory... loving on my Little B.  ;)

Work is so therapeutic. I really like the shawl and especially that you at the end threw the pattern to the wind and finished it so beautifully on your own. Little Miss B and you have matching hair color! Wonder what she is looking at down below so seriously!

This does look amazingly hard for a non-knitter like me! It is so very pretty though. Love your Mother's Day photo - she is gorgeous

Thrilled to see another post from you. I remember Bohemian Rhapsody and loved it. Your new shawl is quite elegant. Love your finish on it. I couldn't concentrate to follow directions that hard anymore period. You do very well.
Thanks for the beautiful scriptures.
Granddaughter is a beauty and growing fast!

It is so good, we have this possibility with our hobby/knitting to therapy ourself. Your modifikation with short rows match the pattern very good, IMHO

First of all, the true beauty here is your little granddaughter. The picture makes me want to cuddle her too. The shawl is just lovely, cozy and elegant, and I really love that gray. You did a wonderful job. It is so good to be reading regular posts again from you. And last, but never least, the scriptures are so rich and true.

Another beautiful piece. Your talent shines through!

How lovely to have scriptures to go through, as you work along.

Your Grand is as sweet as can be..... what a precious jewel.

I love the work quote at the end.
It's quite applicable to me life... as I have worked towards my goals from the time I can remember. Always setting and working towards goals :)

May your day be filled with sunshine, and blessings.

Plain ole garter stitch rows was the perfect way to finish that gorgeous shawl. In my favorite color too!
