2013 Master Gardener's Tour

Two weekends ago, I went on the Master Gardener's Tour with my friends, Mike and Patrice.  These heads were some of my favorite things of the day.  To tell the truth, the yard they were in was amazing, opulent, and... a bit overwhelming for me.  It was huge and perfect.  I think I  like smaller... not quite so perfect.  But, it was VERY impressive and well done.

There were four of them lining steps to a second level of yard.

This was the dining area adjacent to the beautiful outdoor kitchen/den.

And, up the head-lined-stairs was another beautiful lounging spot.  Just incredible.

I love the herbs in the pots...

And, the welcome wagon at the back door.  I have tons more photos from this place, but we are moving on...

I loved the color... and the bird... and the less opulent beauty.

Out of all the gardens, this was my favorite and the side yard was the star for me!  LOVED it!

Sweet little gnome reading to the bunnies in the mushroom forest.  {sigh} and big smile.

Yes, I was fixated on this spot...

And, it had an owl... actually, several owls.  You know I love those!

It's dining area was oh, so perfect.  Note the chandelier and the crown on top of the pergola.

And lovely duck topiaries stood on each side welcoming you to dine.  Beautiful garden and design.  Loved it.  That's it for the Garden Tour.  Hope you each have a wonderful weekend!!

Lovely! We weathered a terrible storm last evening. It's a mess around town. I don't know how this will affect our garden walk next week. Luckily, our only problem was a loss of power from 7 p.m. to around 4 a.m.. Giving up on reading by candlelight, I was asleep by 8:30 p.m., woke briefly when the bedside lamp came on at 4 a.m., turned over and went back to sleep until 7 a.m.. I feel energized.

Best,
Bonnie

Oh my...what a spot. I liked the head and then...I saw 4 heads. Seems a bit overwhelming, indeed.

Was this in your area?
And was it a home there? WOW!

Love the subtle humor of it all.
Gnomes reading to bunnies, hairy heads, plus the elegance of it all.

I would have loved this place. I also have a thing for owls and bunnies. So sweet. I guess the pergola and chandy were my other favorites.

How interesting and too bad you could not have eaten in your favorite garden. So restful yet so much to look at. Thanks for sharing the tour! Everything looks so healthy and green.

What a wonderful way to spend a day. It's been years? Decades?.. since I've been on a garden tour. My husband and I used to love to do home tours and garden tours. We loved gleaning ideas and dreaming. I forgot about that! You've got me going... :)

Blessings, Debbie

I share your love of garden tours. It is wonderful to see how some folks pull it all together. They are great places for ideas, but the work they require demands more help than my two hands can give. In my next life there will be staff :-). I hope your weekend is off to a great start. Blessings...Mary

Sent this post link to my good friend, a Master Gardener. She flipped over the heads. She's going to try one now. One of these days I should shoot her gardens and post the photos. I just rec'd a new camera. I gave my previous one to my sons, enroute to Australia. I never replaced it til this week.

Awesome stuff.

Looks like wonderful escapes from the realities of everyday life. Would love to have a little oasis like one of those. Complete with mosquito repellant! :-) thanks for taking us in the tour! Xoxo

Oh wow wee. So pretty and full of interesting objects. I've always told my husband, that if I ever have a huge sum of extra money....I will be having myself a full time gardener. I certainly do appreciate a beautiful yard,

Tanna- I can't imagine living in a home with gardens like these-- although they are beautiful (!!!)--- I'd be more comfortable with something a lot less perfect. I would imagine that the homes were "really something" too.
Garden tours are great for inspirational ideas-- your photos are just beautiful-/
