21,618 Stitches of Love

I've made this pattern once before... in hopes... of a tiny granddaughter.

This time, each of the 21,618 stitches were crafted especially for a Little Lady on the way...

I enjoy knitting love and hope and blessings and prayers into a garment... and this one brims over with those.

The pattern is the Clara Dress by Karin Vestergaard.  The yarn is Madelinetosh Light, color - iceberg.

Of course, then there needed to be shoes...

I hope you dance, dear granddaughter of mine...

Love, Noni

Beautiful - absolutely beautiful!~ Love the shoes. And so very happy you are back. You always make me smile, so it is for selfish reasons I love your blog.

Oh, Tanna. She will dance in those slippers. And many others. How beautiful that dress is. I'm so glad that knitted dresses are coming back for baby girls. They're even prettier now than when mine was wearing them.

I remember when you made that precious little dress. It was ivory wasn't it? I love the color and the shoes are just wonderful. I hope she will pose in both for a photo you can share with us.

Best,
Bonnie

Awww the shoes are so sweet and the dress is adorable. She will look like a little doll all dressed up in these.

You are an awesome knitter. Every stitch is perfect. Wow. I bow my knitting needles down to you ma'am.

I love the color of this yarn, too. So lovely.

Blessings to you always

Ah. Her first knitted gift from her Noni! It is stunning, but what else would it be.
Knitting in the prayers and hopes and dreams - priceless.
I want to knit a prayer shawl. I bought a book. Don't know where to start....maybe with praying, huh? :-)

Love those little flower buttons....love buttons in general, but love those especially!
How lucky is this baby girl?

Tanna, sorry for too much words, it is a translation from russian of not my poem, but i like it so...

I'll knit for you life
Of fluffy mohair yarn.
I will knit for you life,
Do not lie any single loop.
I will knit for you life,
Where a pattern is from the field of prayers,
wishes for happiness,
In light of my love.
I'll knit for you life
Of funy melange yarn.

I'll knit for you life
And then give it to you from the bottom of my heart.
Where from I am taking the yarn?
Nobody ever admit:
To knit for you life,
I secretly unknit my.

I can just hear all of the oohs and ahhs that precious outfit is going to receive once it's given! That is so beautiful and I'm sure will be a forever keepsake even after it's outgrown. You are one talented lady to be able to make that!

What a delighful dish of eye candy this morning. I love the color, the sweet buttons and all the love that went into every stitch. Someday when she is much, much older, I can see her taking this sweet dress out tissue paper and proudly passing it on to her granddaughter. It will be part of her story. :-)

Love the dress and shoes! I had wondered what you had on your needles. I would really like to try this one sometime. I looked for the pattern alone and did not find it. There is going to be one lucky little girl that wears this!

The Clara Dress is darling! And the shoes are dorable. How wonderful that you have a grand daughter on the way!!! After two precious grandsons, a little grand daughter will be the icing on the cake.
You do such lovely work, I'm so envious, I have tried many times to knit and crochet, both with terrible results.

Your Clara is just beautiful!!!! I ordered Clara in a kit form several years ago----but the color was rather odd (sort of a green that only a red-headed baby could pull off!!!) I'm still waiting for that child; but I loved making the dress. (21,618 stitches!!! yikes!) The little booties are adorable. What a lucky baby. (What a lucky granny!!)
