Good News, Green Leaves and Post-op Complications

I am so thankful to have received news that the lymph nodes were benign and that there were clear margins around the melanoma (and the basal cell carcinoma on my ear).  I am so thankful for all of your prayers.  For your support.  For your compassion.  I can honestly say that I felt surrounded and held by love last Friday... blessed by a supernatural peace.  I will be forever grateful... to God and His people... my people... our people.  It is so very humbling to be the recipient of such love and grace.  So very humbling.

Family and friends and food and flowers... Love and prayers and gifts from the heart.  Certainly, there has been more good from this experience than bad.  Even with a post-op complication at one of the lymph node sites (and now a seroma), I have had it good.  I have been lucky.  I have been blessed.  It doesn't always work out that way.  Why?  I don't have the answer.

What I can tell you with absolute conviction is that:  the picture is always bigger than we can see.  We may never see or understand... our lives are only small, small pieces.  But, I do trust.  I trust that God loves you and me.  I trust that our physical bodies are insignificant compared to our souls.

My  heart especially goes out today to the ones that didn't feel lucky or blessed or get out by the hair of their teeth.   The ones who are still in the fire.  In the hard places.  In the hurt.  In the fear.  In the places you doubt... and question... and rage.  I pray.  Lord, I beg.  That these sweet souls find Your peace in the midst of their trials.  And, I thank You for Your love.

Leontien, you remain in my prayers.

Andrea, as I am waiting to hear your results... I continue to hold you up in prayer.

I'm asking for your prayers again today.  This time for Brian, my step-son-in-law.  He has just been diagnosed with lymphoma.  He and Audra, Evan's daughter, celebrated their second anniversary in February; they have two precious children between them, who very much need the prayers for peace and support and for his healing.

Oh, and the Green Leaves... well, let's just say that they have been being "UN-knit" as much as they are being knit.  Hopefully, there will be a post about them soon!  ;)

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. I have been so worried and praying for you. Now your SIL.

Are you all done with treatment?

And how sensitive you are to the feelings of others that may not have been so lucky.

You and I wrote on VERY similar things today - weird - I call it a God Wink.

I am so happy for you.

Love, sandie

What a relief for you that you are through the worst of it.

Your heart must be heavy at the thought of what your son-in-law and his family are going to go through. Praying that they will have a healthy outcome, and treatments will be successful.

We continue to offer our prayers on behalf of those that have a difficult road ahead of them.

May they be comforted, and feel well.

I'm so very happy to hear this wonderful news Tanna. You know you're in my thoughts and prayers and I have been sending much love and healing energy your way.

I'm also sending prayers out to Brian, Audra and their family for healing and a knowing of peace through this very worrying time.

Dear Tanna ~ I'm so glad to hear this is behind you now. It's a wonderful thing to feel lifted up by prayer. I will always remember the support I had during my cancer journey in 2009.

Sending love...and your leaves are such a pretty color of green.

I've had you on my mind and in my prayers a good deal over the past days and am delighted to hear the good news. But what a thoughtful post ... we just never know what's around the corner, do we, which is why there is such comfort in letting go to what God has for us. So sorry to hear about your son in law with his young family. I've been thinking about the tapestry of life and you have spoken so beautifully of it today.

Dearest Tanna,
I am relieved and thankful to God for the good report. None of us understand why bad things happen to good people, but we do know that God knows.
A friend of mine recently went through lymphoma, went through treatments and is out the other side, giving God the glory for a healthy and strong body. I will help pray for your son-in-law.
Have a glorious day!
Hugs, Cindy

Hallelujah and amen! I have been thinking of you and praying for you and am so happy to hear the good news! I so wanted to be able to bring you something to make you smile....but there is that 'real' distance thing as opposed to this instant connection we can have.
This was such a wonderful post. I loved the part about the picture always being bigger than we can see...I wil be thinking on that for awhile.
I am so happy and relieved and joyful!
Will pray for Brian.
Love, d.

Blessings, prayers and good thoughts to you and your family Tanna. When we go through stuff like this one of two things happen. We either crumble or we get stronger. I'm glad to see you are stronger and your faith is not shaken. Keep us posted.

Well said. A friend once told me that living life is like looking at the backside of a cross-stitch. It looks like a jumbled mess from our perspective sometimes, but God is working a masterpiece from his side of things. So relieved, so grateful, so happy that you got good news. And so thankful for more good than bad. ;-) I love you! xoxo

I am very glad to hear the good news with your health! I'm sure this has been a very trying experience for you. I will keep your son in law in my prayers too. Now it's his turn to fight the battle. Hopefully, his was caught early and he will soon be walking in your shoes. My MIL's brother has been battling lymphoma for years. I don't know the details about it, but he has been doing good.

Lifting up praises....and I have addressed this also recently, why for some and why not for others...but the truth is He is God and I am not...and yes He sees the whole picture, we do not

Praying for each that you mentioned...may they see the Lord mightily through their struggles.

Tanna- what an emotional post---

I'm so very happy for your good news- God is good- and your blessing of continued good health is truly a wondrous gift. I know that you KNOW how very blessed that you are.

I've been reading your blog but had been unable to comment as we were out of the country and the Internet was most unstable-- but I've kept you in my prayers.

I will continue to pray for your Brian. I know all too well the lymphoma saga--- our best friend was diagnosed 7 years ago- today he is in remission. Tell Brian that he can beat this. Prayer is a mighty force.

Sending love-
Vicki

So glad to hear your news--will continue to pray for healing. Pray that your step son-in-law does well with treatment. I have two very close friends who are long term survivors of lymphoma. They have made great advancements in treatment, but it is still scary to hear. My brother-in-law is battling a rare cancer, but is doing well. Bless all those so afflicted.

Tanna - great news! God is so good and He has answered your prayer and the prayers of so many! Will be holding your SIL up, too, in his battle. There are several around me that are dealing with this and other serious health matters. I'm so glad that yours worked out well. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!

Hey, Friend... Just catching up with you tonight and find this - such a poignant, beautiful prayer of thanks and intercession. I join my prayers to all others for Brian. The Scripture says that one prayer can put a thousand to flight, two prayers ten thousand. (Deut. 32:30) I thank the Lord for your good report, dear one. XO

Hi Tanna - I just found your blog (you ar following Nancy from Wild Oak Designs) and I decided to click into some of her followers - and found you!

So glad that you had good news and very sad about your step son- in-law. I pray that he gets good news - doctors can do wonderful things nowadays. My husband was diagnosed with cancer several years ago - and he has been doing very well. I had thought the worst - but he has been doing progressively better and better. He has a rare form of cancer - so I worried that the doctors wouldn't have as much research on it - but what they have been prescribing...has been working.

Your knitting is really beautiful - I wish I had the patience (and the eyesight) to do what you do. I'm just good with a paintbrush and trowel.

Please stop by my blog.

Thanks - glad to know you via your blog,

Linda

Tanna....so sorry to hear all that you've been going through but glad to hear that you are doing great.

Cancer is such a horrible disease. My sister is a breast cancer survivor (10 years now).

My son rides in the annual "Ride to Conquer Cancer" from Vancouver to Seattle (bicycle). This is his 4th year. He made this hilarious video, hope it can bring a smile to your face.
