First Sighting of "The Big Pond"
We arrived in Gulf Shores on a foggy, cool afternoon of March 17, 2012. It was such a special moment to have been present for Little Man's first sighting of "the Beeeg Pond", with the "beeg waves" and the "little waves". Although this was Little Roo's first sighting of the big pond, too, he wasn't quite as impressed... this time. The look on Little Man's face with the waves rushing in... p.r.i.c.e.l.e.s.s.!
My greatest treasures in life are these kind of moments spent with my loved ones... and my heart's greatest joy is that they enjoy these moments, too.
Oh, that you could hear these serious conversations... conversations that continued at bedtime as I lay beside his sweet little self while he recounted the days happenings... and his joy with The Big Pond and The Little Blue Pond (swimming pool in the backyard)... the big waves and the little waves... the "sheshells" and the "jellie fishes"... The precious "heyyooo"s...
Time is always too short with my loves... disappears like footprints in the sand.

Such a beautiful family...all of you. I love observing anyone seeing the ocean for the first time. I remember my first time at 18. It started a love affair that has never stopped.
LOVED these pictures, thanks for sharing them, I could feel all the love of your grandma's heart because I feel all of that too. Nothing is as precious! Happy Easter Tanna. :)

Dear Tanna, Isn't it wonderful. Memories that will carry you through each day. Blessings, Catherine xo
This is just a wonderful post!!! Aren't grandchildren the best?? I wish I had been as good a mom as I am a grandmother, so it kind of gives us a second chance, once we are older and have a bit more wisdom. I love his name for the swimming pool!! What a special time this was. My very favorite picture is the first one on the left, with you holding him, just beautiful!
What precious pictures! Enjoy the little ones as often as you can. They grow up so fast.
Joy is seeing something like a "big pond" through little eyes! Our boys were born on the Pacific and they knew it from infancy on. One big thrill for us was when our youngest saw Lake Michigan. Wide-eyed, he said "this is not a lake, it's an ocean!! Precious photos!
Best,
Bonnie

Great photos and post, Tanna. Loved those footprints, a wonderful reminder to cherish these moments! Thanks.
Tanna, what a beautiful post. Your little man is so lucky to have you in his life...as you are to have him, too! What joy to share the moments large and small. And you know, you probably pay more attention to them since you don't get to share every single moment with them. Maybe.
How sweet,,,,,I can relate so much!
If you are lucky he will beg to go back and in my book that's another definite trip to the beach!!!

Looking at your pictures, you can see the warmth that both families have for each other. You can tell that the time spent with each other meant a lot. Yes, I agree with you about being with the ones you love. It's never enough. But when you are with them, it's a natural high.
Oh Tanna- these photos are so beautiful. I love the foggy haze at the beach-and your family is so precious. This post needs to be made into a book. It is truly priceless--

Such beautiful photos with the mist and clouds and joy! They speak many words, and your words express so well the emotion of that wonderful time. It was fun to experience things for the first time with our kids, but how much more rich and joyous with our grandchildren! What a special memory you all made! Love the footprint photo!

I'll never forget my older grandson's first look at the Atlantic Ocean, Tanna. He was so amazed and later fell asleep in my arms as the sound of the waves lulled him to sleep.
Hope you and your family have a very Happy and Blessed Easter!
