Homeowners' Party

Every year the Historic Tyler on Tour committee and Historic Tyler, Inc. board host a Homeowners' Party to honor the owners who graciously open their homes to the public during the weekend of the Tour (March 26-27). As a token of our appreciation, the homeowners are presented with a drawing of their home and a set of note cards designed with the scanned home drawing. (These are some of the drawings.)

My artist friend, Patrice (on left in the gorgeous pink jacket) has done the drawings for the past two years.  She is amazing and so generous to donate her time and talent to the Tour.  Thank you, Patrice!

Patrice and I (chairman of the Tour this year) had the honor of presenting the homeowners with their drawings and note cards.

What a pleasure... This young man has been such a delight to get to know.  John grew up in this neighborhood and returned to his hometown and home neighborhood last year...  AND is opening his home for the Tour!

Deborah and Nancy, two on the left, were the chairs of this lovely party.
Mary, on the right, is President-Elect of Historic Tyler, Inc.

The party was lovely and much fun.  We hope the homeowners caught a glimpse of how much we appreciate them.

The members of the board provide the food... and it is always beautiful and delicious.

This was my contribution... I have to say, it was great fun making these tiny little treats!  I don't usually do "tiny"; I'm more of a "big" cook.  LOL!

I have been so blessed this year with generous homeowners and a wonderful committee.  I am grateful.

Yes your little bits do look delicious, and what a fun evening and way to express appreciation to the hosts. I am sure it's a lot of work to have your home open for a tour and you helped them to feel well appreciated it looks like!

What an awesome way to say thank-you to the homeowners who open their homes up, and a great way to get to know your neighbors.

The food spread was awesome. Beautiful.

Cheers.

You set an elegant table my friend. The food looks wonderful and I'm sure the homeowner's got to know how much you appreciate their generosity. Forgive me, but I'm about to sound crass. Have you any idea where Patrice got that gorgeous jacket? I'm not normally an impulse shopper but I think I've fallen in love :-). Have a wonderful day. Blessings...Mary

What a fabulous event! Everything looked perfect at your brick street bungalow :-)

Mary, I did ask Patrice about the jacket. So sorry... she said she has had it for about three years or so and doesn't remember exactly where she got it. I think I may just go sneak it out of her closet myself! ;)

Tanna- those drawings are beautiful. My sister is the artist in this family and I have her do drawings of friends houses in our historic district. I give them as Christmas gifts. A couple of years I took pics of almost all the nicely redone homes and she drew me pictures of them and I shrunk a variety of 5 down and then made copies of them. I put them in those nice silver frame ornaments that Michaels does at Christmas with the year and gave the set as gifts for Christmas. We are trying to do 5 new ones each year so the set can grow. That might be a good fundraiser for your neighborhood. You could do one house each year and sell the ornaments.

Okay, need the recipe for your treats. I can't make them out from the photograph (& my stupid eye surgery--see Women of a Certain Age today) but they look divine. I need a decent recipe for hors d'ouerves.
