Basket Therapy - Day 5

I promise this will be the last Basket Therapy post... for awhile anyway.  I am in search mode for the perfect yarn for at least one more.  ;)

But, they are like Lay's potato chips... you just can't stop at one.  And, apparently they are contagious as well as addictive.  I caught the bug from Sherri...

And last night, I received this text photo from my friend, Laura (don't you just love her lap blanket in the background!).  She has her knitting project all packed ready to go for a class she is taking this morning!  I know another friend, Sharon is working on one, too.  It's a good "disease" to catch.  LOL!

For any of you who think you might like to make one and don't know how to crochet, you can learn ANYTHING on video tutorials.  It is amazing!  We live with all the information we need right at our fingertips.  How cool is that?!

I want to share a few photos from a very special three-year-old's birthday party this summer...  Our Little Roo (middle, as if you couldn't tell with the Roo on his cape) had a Super Hero party his Momma cooked up just for him.

I think it was the most fun little birthday party I've ever attended!  She found these capes at the dollar store a year before she had a plan for them.  The kiddos each decorated their capes with stick on foam stickers, etc.

Cutest bunch of Super Heroes I've EVER seen!!

"We must be steady enough in ourselves, to be open and to let the winds of life blow through us, to be our breath, our inspiration: to breathe with them, mobile and soft in the limberness of our bodies, in our agility, our ability, as it were, to dance, and yet to stand upright."
~ Mary Caroline Richards

Happy August.... and a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my S-I-L and Alex and Roo's Daddy, Jerry!  You are a super hero to them and us.  We love you.

I'm loving your basket series, and the baskets are addictive! And gorgeous. My pattern calls for cotton which I thought made them stronger but you must be using something else. How fun to carry yarn projects around in one of the baskets. Last month we started a Yarn Lovers thing at our church and we have all kinds of projects to make for various needs in our community. We have older women refreshing old skills and young women learning for the first time. Should be fun and keep our fingers busy. I would agree with you about that party. What a cute bunch of super heroes!! And I always enjoy your quotes.

I've just found your blog and when I saw the title, I new I would love it! I LOVE BASKETS! My daughters sort of blanch when I say basket! They always look for a new one when they come over! My daughter Ashleigh is fond of saying,"You know, the basket that is made out of yarn, that is holding the yarn for the new yarn basket she is making!" What can I say? It's the truth!
Have a super weekend!

Well, another successful basket!
I too, love your baskets, and enjoy seeing them all.

Happy belated birthday to your Grand "Roo", and to your S-I-L!
~~Blessings in your life.

You are correct.. we can learn so much from the internet. I am thinking I might be able to learn how to make your darling baskets.
Winter will be on the way, soon enough, and I will have time to learn something new.

Have a lovely evening.

Another nice basket, but I still like the beige one best! What a fun birthday party. DD sure looks like her mom! I thought, oh no, what a lot of sewing when I first saw the capes, but love that the kids decorated them instead. What a great idea!

Keep. The. Posts. Coming. =) Baskets, flowers, house mess, whatever you want - just keep 'em coming!

Loved that you were here to celebrate the Roodle's bday. And that we were together for Alex's, too. Speaking of Alex, he says to me yesterday (as he's carrying his tote into Chipotle), "It sure is great to have a bag to carry all my stuff like the girls." LOL!

I would like to succumb to the basket-crocheting addiction too, just as soon as I've finished the Christmas stockings.
I love the Super Heroes party theme with the capes, and will pass the idea along to my daughter-in-law. With four little ones, she always welcomes new ideas!

What a fantastic birthday party idea! I wish that I had had that party. xx

I Love this with a capital L! I'm all about little theme parties for kids. I once made capes for fairy princess parties for my girls, and if I am EVER blessed enough to have a grandson (or two, or three...) I want to copycat this in the biggest way. After all, I doubt superheroes will ever go out of style. So precious!!

Tanna- I can see how making those little baskets could be addicting-- I'd want one in every color. Then-- I'd be making one for everyone I know!! They really are just so wonderful!

These have to be the cutest little super heroes anywhere!! What a wonderful idea for a birthday party!! So cute!!

Vicki

Cute idea for a party. The capes are great. And I love, love, love those crocheted baskets. Have been making small ones, but might need to make some bigger ones. Lord knows I got enough stuff to put in them. Ha! Best wishes, Tammy
