The YES

There are different seasons in life...

There is a season you must learn to say NO.  Draw boundaries.  Keep from overspending yourself.

Then, there seems to be a season to learn to YES again.

Recently while I was climbing the stairs to the back deck, God reminded me of an old joke. You know, the one about the guy on the roof during a flood.  He prayed for God to help him.

A boat passed by and he said, "No, I'm waiting on the Lord."  A helicopter flew over, tried to get him and the man said, "No, I'm waiting on the Lord."  He was washed away in the flooding waters.

In heaven, he asked God why He didn't help him.  God replied, "I sent a boat and a helicopter, why didn't you get on either one?"

So, I understood it was time to say YES to some of the things God sent my way... Okay, a couple He may have sent more than once.  I'm just sayin'.

I have been so blessed by the YES.

This gorgeous pumpkin arrangement was made by a wonderfully creative and amazing lady who I am getting to know better... along with a dozen others in one of my YES decisions.

I am inspired.

This season of Thanksgiving, I am thankful for the gifts of YES.  If it is your season of YES,  I hope you can open your arms and your heart to the potential today.

Could there possibly be a more handsome Little Man waiting to go to school earlier this week (yes, I know many of you have just as handsome Little Men!!)?  How could we survive without texts and facetime?  ;)

Thank you for reminding me about "yes". Sometimes I remind myself and friends that saying "no" upon occasion provides the time and energy to say "yes" to something else. For me the time leading to Christmas is a yes time.

I think I'm also in a season of saying yes, and seeing people in a brighter nicer way...even those who are not so lovely, and have said hurful things. God is bigger than any hurt...and He's the great healer. Yes bring much joy just now.

Thanks for the reminder.

I know I've missed some of the help that God sent my way. I guess I was waiting for the clouds to part and the voice of God to speak directly to me!! I'm so glad that he is patient.

Have a delicious and wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by those you love.

Best,
Bonnie

Oh, Tanna, so happy you are finding the time and the heart to say YES again. YES is an exciting season...a growth time. Enjoy each moment. I can't wait to see what your being inspired produces!
And just YAY for hearing and listening to the God voice. You are one of my heroes.

This is indeed a post from the heart. And it is such a day of celebration when we can say "yes." The key is learning the balance, which I still seem to be figuring out. But my yeses are more joyfull, thanks to "R." :-)

And what a great ending to your post, That sweet little guy sitting there smiling. Can he be in school already? How fast they grow. I'm in a panic realizing that Little One will be in Kg next year. Oh my.

Isn't this the truth! Well said. Although I'm in a "no" season with plenty on my plate...I've been there before avoiding "yes". Glad you are inspired :)

I love the message behind your post today. You're right. Sometimes, things that come our way are opportunities to say yes to. Sounds like you're not regretting your decision.

What a blessing Facetime is. We are unable to travel from NC to CA to visit our "little man" so with I-Pad we don't miss out on watching him grow. I can not believe how grown up your "little man" is getting. Love your Fall decoations!

I think I needed to read this in a big way. I have been in a reclusive season lately. (You might have noticed.) I need to step out and look for some things to say YES to.

And YES... he is one cute little man.

I remember that joke many times. It's a perfect reminder that there are times in our lives when we need to say yes!

A wonderful reminder of saying YES!! I love that beautiful arrangement. Do you know how those pod things are orange? We had some around our place and they were green, but when they dried they were brown. I wonder how people get them to be that gorgeous orange?! :)

What a great post, Tanna. I've recently learned to listen to "no" as well. Though God had to tell me twice...and it cost me twice as much $$. I must also listen to no! Thanks for visitiing my blog :)

I've never found it difficult to say "no," but it's not very easy for me to say "yes." You've got the wheels turning over here... xoxo

I so enjoyed this post. I need to be more willing to obey and direct my life toward the Yes's of life. I know I could see so many riches in life if only I would learn to say NO to some things and replace the word No with the word Yes in other things.
does this all make sense? Hugs
