Christmas in July

Along the lines of trying to "think cool," I've started a Christmas Stocking with the ladies at Rose Path, our LYS (local  yarn store).  They are having a knit-a-long and I couldn't resist.  Check out their blog at Shush!  I'm Counting.

I went with a non-traditional color... and am really enjoying it so far.

As a matter of fact, it seems I'm stuck on this color scheme right now.  I started this Weekend Retreat Cardi while at Amanda's and finished it very shortly after returning home.

This is a free pattern on LionBrand.com and the yarn is their recycled cotton.  I LOVE the feel and the fit of this pattern and yarn.  Perfect.  The color is Seashells and the pattern is Weekend Retreat Cardi #81016AD.

This was a super easy, super fast, super satisfying knit!  I would highly recommend it.  It is fighting its way to King of the Mountain for Favorite Thing Ever Knitted.  LOL!

Think cool my friends!  blessings ~ tanna

Funny, I was just thinking about making new Christmas stockings last night--sewing, not knitting. Love the color and that cardigan is beautiful. I think it's just right for October in Virginia.

Best,
Bonnie

The stocking is just gorgeous. But the cardi, after your hard sell, I think I can handle it! It looks like something that my middle daughter would love and I've been trying to come up with a pattern for her. So, I thank you Tanna!!

Blessings, Debbie

I think the stocking is going to be so unique and pretty. I hope you show it complete. Marcia at One Heart at Home is having a Christmas in July party. You should show it!

And the sweater is something I would love. I just can't wear that color, and I wish I could.

I tend to be drawn to all shades of gray when buying clothing for myself. Your cardigan turned out beautifully. Knitting and I didn't get along and I've never attempted any type of crocheted clothing, other than a shawl. I'm not sure I could do anything with an actual neckline or sleeves. :/ Hope you are having a great day. Tammy

Oh what a cute Christmas Stocking, and I love the shades of blue.

The sweater is adorable. I wear knitted coverups a lot, but unfortunately, dont knit them myself. I think they can add so much to an outfit.

But super easy....I doubt it/ha

I can see why you liked to knit this one ... and it even looks cooler, maybe because of the color! I wish I could tackle such big knitting projects. Maybe when I retire and can concentrate on a project. Meanwhile I like the ease of crocheting when you don't have to count stitches quite so much!

It's simply lovely!

Love the little cardi--I might just have to add that project to my list. I also love Nature Spun and Brown Sheep Yarns. Your picture of the Ann Norling pattern brought back memories...we used to carry her patterns when I co-owned a yarn shop.
Best,
Susan

Beautiful pattern. What patience you must have to create such lovely things.

I've been stuck on that silvery color for the past year! It seems that it compliments so many other colors.

Love the sweater but I tend to adore anything gray. It's my new black I think! My kids were given knitted stockings as baby gifts. I still use them every year. They are sort of skinny and I have to push the stuffers in but they are part of the tradition thing. Can't wait to see your finished sock!

Beautiful! Love that color too...gray is the NEW black! It is such a classy color!!

Love the homemade stockings. Can't wait to see how they turn out. You'll have to be sure to post pictures when you finish. Hope you are staying cool enough in this HOT weather.

Hi Tanna - I'm loving your color choices too - That's going to be a beautiful stocking - AND stretchy, too - you can squeeze more goodies in it! Your cardigan turned out well, too - only - you didn't try it on for us. You've really gotten into this knitting - looks great - wish I had some time for it, maybe one of these days.

Doing any painting lately?

Oh my....you are very talented...This is very interesting...I tried my hand at this one time and I must say, I didn't do a very good job...No talent in the crocheting, knitting, or sewing area for me...

Enjoyed..
Hugs to ya

The color is lovely -- but I'm having a hard time even thinking of wool. It's hot here! Keep cool and take care.
