Saturday Play Day!!

I have things I needed to be doing, but declared it a holiday!  Evan was off to a gun school for the day and I was gathering my painting stuff by 6:45 this morning!  A whole day to paint!!   This is the sunflower I started a few weeks ago... I'm finally calling it finished.

Of course, I am having to take another shot at it... So, this is Version Two in process...  I am just fascintated by the properties of watercolor; it is almost like it participates in the painting.  Lovin' it.

If you note the technique book on the right, you can guess what I'm up to next!

Yep, that's right.  Insanity to attempt people... but, I just can't help myself.  I have already missed the shape of his cheek!  Doggonit!  But, it will be good practice and let me judge whether there is any possibility of this or no...
Hopefully, I will have more to share on this (if it doesn't get shredded!).

And, lest Baby Boy be forgotten, I worked a little on his nightgown yesterday.  I should probably stick to knitting!  LOL!

Hope everyone is getting a chance to pursue something they love this weekend!

Blessings ~
Tanna

I really like that you declared a Hoilday. Just might have to do that, also!

Keep those paint brushes out!

Your progress is amazing--thanks for sharing -- and I think it's great that you attempt what you don't think you can do, for you may be surprised! And practice makes perfect. Meanwhile the little nightgown is looking so sweet and near to finishing. My blanket not so much! But June will be here soon!

Tanna, I echo all the comments above! Good job! I spent the day here at my desk, trying to figure out a template for my papers. Yuck! Did do a little digging in the garden towards sunset. Felt good. So happy you enjoyed this gorgeous day!

Hi Tanna, I can see you had a creative day too. Gorgeous watercolors. Yikes! When I've tried my hand at painting, the watercolors participated more than I did and all I came up with was a mess. I'm amazed when someone can paint something so beautifully. Sketching faces is hard enough, good luck with the baby painting. Have a great rest of the weekend and thanks for stopping by my corner of the world. Tammy

You are good at whatever you put your hand to. People are really hard to paint. I'm amazed at your sketching ability. Soooo good!

The sunflower looks as if you caught it just as it was raising its lovely face to the sun--beautiful!

Such labors of love you have in the works! Can't wait to see the finished "Little Man" and the gown for the even "Littler Man".

Best,
Bonnie

Honest to goodness, I look at the things you attempt with cooking, painting, entertaining, knitting, photographing, the list goes on and think about the amazing creative talent God has given you. Seriously. You have it in abundance, and it is so fun to watch the fruits and to see you enjoy using those talents, too.

I can't wait to see the portraiture of LM. Please post for the rest of us to see even if you determine it is only worth the shredding (which seems highly unlikely to me because all of your other work has turned out so beautiful). Also, I have to say that I'm a fan of sunflower #2 if that's the one that's in the matte. Lovin' the drama on that one! Seems like the insanity was worth it. ;) Love you bunches.

Tanna, want to use the sunflower you've completed. I have captured several sunflower paintings ovee the years and I believe it will be fun to post them together.

Everyone loves sunflowers because they are so...sunny! okay with you?

Oh yes! You know its going to be a good day, when it is declared a Play Date ;-) I really like your sunflower painting-it really pops in its depth. It's almost like it comes out of the canvas to greet you. very nice.

Happy Sunday.
