The Crazies!

The past month has been a crazy whirlwind of activity.

While racing into Home Depot to procure a SECOND kitchen faucet while the plumber was waiting... I snagged this beauty off the display for the garden club!

I love the "heart" and the red. Just couldn't resist; I am so ready for spring.

There have been weddings and funerals... Made this cake for Evan's daughter, Audra, and her love, Brian, as a groom's cake. Had a few problems with Bevo's right horn... I'm just sayin'. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception much fun. They were glowing. I am very happy for Audra.

Made this one layer little carrot cake while Barbara was here for a visit. Love my little cake stand from LaurieAnna's!

And, over the weekend, the delicate, pink flowers popped open!

Spring is knocking on our door!! I say, "Come on in!"

Been missing you around here. I love your cake stand with the ruffled edge. Very unusual. The trees are blooming here, too, but now we have several days of dreary rainy weather again. The sun just won't stay around here long enough.

All the flowers are beautiful! I believe spring has arrived. The camellias around here have popped out this week. Mr. Sun is visiting today, and I can't wait to get some of his good ol' vitamin D today. Have a lovely day.

Tanna,
Yes, I have been to Scottsville. LOVE IT for a cemetery!!! :) In fact, I am taking some friends there later this spring. It is fascinating! Have you been to Gray, north of Caddo Lake, to the site of Harriett Potter? My very favorite book of all times is Love Is A Wild Assault by Kirkland. The book is about Harriett's life and how she eventually settled on Caddo Lake. Check it out if you haven't already. It's a great piece of Texas history.

I miss spring in the South. Virginia was so darn gorgeous. Your Tulip tree reminded me it's probably beautiful there now. I'm missing azaleas, magnolias, red buds, tulips, daffodils, camellias, primrose, pansies, and so many others. I used to plant candytuft as a trimmer and tulips & daffys for Spring, gladiolus for Summer along w/ Zinnias & dahlias. I had roses 9 mos of the year. I don't even try them here because the growing season is too short & they require so much work & feeding & whatnot.

Longing for Spring...

We don't see the BEGINNINGS of those flowers until May in this here neck 'o the woods.

Well I checked it out and joined up. Love your blog - has a lot of different ideas and themes going through it and I like that. Thanks too for coming to mine.

I'm more of a grandma - in fact I am a grandma - I am going to be another grandma in November!

Love your little guy.
