Winter Sunshine, Mystery Mitts, Sweet Notes and Oh, Yes!

Early morning...

After our bitter cold week, the winter sunlight has been a welcome guest...

Everything seems better when the sun is shining.

I've been working on my Mystery Mitts... Learning a few new stitches.  Not perfect, but getting better...

I've got to get back to work on them to get this week's clue done!  Just finished Shanghai Girls by Lisa See.  It was a pretty good read... very well written.

Received Thank You notes from our Little Men.  I love how their Momma has thank you notes made when she does their Christmas cards... then, we get an after-Christmas treat, too.  ;)

Makes me smile.

And, oh, yes!!  It has been warm enough for a couple rounds of golf (70F Sunday afternoon)!!  How WONDERFUL to be out and moving around without being COLD!  ;)  A big happy for this old girl.  It's gotten a little cooler, but the sun is still shining and it warms up to the mid-fifties... I can deal with that kind of temperature.

Wishing each of you some happy in your week!

The first book I read by Lisa See was "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan". It remains one of my favorite books of all time!! I highly recommend it. What a good idea to have those sweet faces on thank you cards. What a good lesson to teach them. No sunshine in these parts today. The landscape is brown, gray and white.

Best,
Bonnie

love your knitting project and the diagonal design - pretty!! Yay for being outside with some fresh air. It's been rainy and dreary and cold once more after a weird warm up for two days. All good :)

The sunshine and warmer temperatures are cheering everybody up around here. And we too got thankyous from our grands that our DIL had ordered. One from our six year old was fill in the blank. So clever. But getting them in the wonderful habit of acknowledging and showing appreciation for gifts. Enjoy the great weather while it lasts!

I marvel how you find time to read a real book. Seems like I only read when I go to the beach. I read too many blogs to read a novel! lol!
Glad you enjoyed some golf! Your new mitten project looks neat. Pretty colors.
Hope you have a great week.

Your dining room is so beautiful, Tanna! The Little Men are so cute and growing up! It's wonderful that your daughter is teaching them to send thank you's. Our weather was really spring-like today and makes me long for spring. It will be here before we know it!

We've had very little sun for the past week. I thought I might awaken to blue skies today but that didn't happen. Still hazy out there. Our temps are in the 60s mostly, though I do prefer them being as close to 70 as possible. :) I'm not a cold weather gal at all. Happy golfing and knitting and reading. :)

Can't wait to see those finished mittens!! Also, I'm eager to hear a review on the book...and to know if you started Pachinko. About to start America's First Daughter. We'll have to do a swap when we're both finished. ;-) XOXO

Oh those mitts! Yours are looking great. I am fighting with mine, still working on one. The stitch count was off for some reason I can't fathom, but I made do and am working on Clue 4. Taking a break at the moment and working on something that requires less concentration. I like Lisa See's writing, too, and have read a number of her books. Love your GK photos. Have a great weekend! Enjoy that sunshine for me; we've had 6" of rain since the first and tis soggy here.....

sunshine does lift the spirits, doesn't it?!!? Saw in your other post about the escape room.....we did that with our whole gang over christmas and had a BALL!!!! You are so right....everyone MUST do it. So fun. (We didn't solve it....but were within about 5 minutes according to the girl who was watching us....which I'm sure she tells everyone!!!) Reason to go back!

Enjoy the warmer temps! I think we have a couple days before we're plunged back into snow.

The Mystery Mitts look quite intricate, can't wait to see them finished. I love a good mystery. Glad you got to golf, here the best you could have hoped for was indoor ping-pong, our winter has finally arrived.

I love reading your posts, Tanna!
I’ve been doing more quilting than knitting lately...
