Helllloooooooo!

It's been so long it is almost too hard to start back!  So much has happened in the last month.

We met the Little Men and Co. at Disney World for a fast and busy week of fun then returned home just a few days before our scheduled closings on The Brick Street Bungalow and the new house, The Big Bah-Nilla.

It was a rough trip home... ice... cancelled flights... rented car... six hour drive that usually takes an hour and a half... arriving home to trees bent and broken by layers of ice...

There was a lot of frenzied work... of packing.. and cleaning... and clearing of broken limbs and trunks.

Then, there were two closings and two sets of lives shifted spots...

I love that the new owner loves our grandest Old Girl in the same way I always have... Still there were tears as I mopped her big old porch one last time... as I handed over her keys... passed the torch... and hoped... for the future...

WORK has begun on the Big Bah-Nilla...

And, in the midst of all... my poor computer became a fire hazard... and was reduced to a leftover hard drive.   I'm still not used to this new one... and heaven only knows which box the software is that goes to my camera.  So for now, the iPhone photos will have to suffice.

I still feel like the Zurg is hot on my trail!  But, I hope to be back soon...

A special thanks for all the sweet notes and words... your generous spirits and compassionate thoughts lift my soul.  Thank you again and again...

Yay! on the closings...hugs to you about leaving behind "the old girl" but at least you know they will love her just as you did, and you will grow to love the new one, too. :)

Funny how just a few minutes ago I checked your blog, wondering how life was faring for you, knowing you had a lot going on, but mix in that snow and ice--wow! You survived! And now can settle back and take your time maybe? and the new place? But best of all those times with your little ones. Fun, fun …
Be kind to yourself for a bit! :-) Hugs, have missed you!

I saw you had a new post and my first thought was good, I wonder how things have been going. You have been VERY BUSY and I would still be BUSY getting settled. Sorry for the computer troubles. When it rains it pours. Your little guys are growing! Sounds like a great vacation but getting home was no fun.

I know the transition will be hectic but you will do it with much grace I know. I will be thinking of you.

Take care. And I am anxious to see how you de-vanillaize your new place!

So glad to hear you had a fantastic time on the trip, not such a fantastic time on the trip home though. It sounded very trying. Can't wait to see pics of the new place and the magic you do with it!
Remember to be good to yourself now and get some rest amongst the boxes and activities unfolding in your new home.

A move of any kind can be very hard and when it's a big move, it can really tire you out. Can't wait to see pics of your new Big bah..nilla. I've missed you.

The trip to Disney look like a wonderful time with great memories.
The snow here was never ending also, though tomorrow starts spring. I hope that the cold weather knows that date too!

I have been hoping that the silence meant that all was going well and that you were busy packing and unpacking and it sounds as though that is exactly what you have been doing!! I am so happy for you that the move has been completed and I wish you all the best possible things for your time in your new home and I look forward to following along as you get set up in your new life there. I hope that you work out the computer/camera etc thing, it is hard work when you have to change things around. Lovely to hear from you again, and best wishes for all good things. xx

wow have you seen it all! I know how you feel leaving a loved house. Our last house was painted RED and no shutters, it looks like a stranger to me and not my house anymore. But I'm glad someone else loves it so. Sorry about your computer-but hey, a new one is fun!!

The best part.... you'll have many new memories to make with your family, and sweet Grands.
You are a blessed woman, my friend.

Oh my! The weather sure is throwing everyone for a loop. Glad to hear you are back and all is well. You will have your new home spiffy in no time! I use my iPhone for everything now. It takes pretty great pictures. Only use my Canon when we are on vacation and I want distance shots or for taking pictures of the moon since it has a great zoom. Technology throws me for a loop. I like to keep things simple and not change too much. Getting new equipment is always a learning curve but you'll figure it all out in no time. Have a fabulous Friday. Blessings, Tammy

So glad to find a new post from you, I've missed you! How awesome that you got to spend time in Disney with the grands. Life keeps on changing, but truly all things happen for a reason and good comes from each turn. You found so much happiness and your old home, and new happiness awaits you still as you make life happen in your new home.

God bless you and yours always!

I've been missing you but see you have a good excuse for being absent!! I feel your computer pain. Mine crashed a few weeks ago. I purchased the same kind so not much to get used to. Good wishes for the move!!

Hi Tanna, Glad you had a wonderful trip with loved ones, but sorry about the trip home and about the damage due to the ice... How sad!

We've been on 3 trips this month (Arkansas, Ohio, and North Carolina)... We had pretty good weather except when we were in Ohio (be sure to check out some of my older blog posts when you have time). We tried to HIKE in solid ICE.... Scary!!!!! We got some great photos --but the twisted knee I got from a fall was not fun!!!!!ha

I can imagine how sad it was leaving your home ---but you will love the new one I'm sure.

Hugs,
Betsy

Your story always makes me happy for you. Your joy spreads clear over to my heart…and then I am happy for me, too.
The Big Bah-Nilla will be the Big Bee-You-Tee in no time at all.
We are scheduled to run electric wires through the walls starting Monday if we don't get snowed out again. Hopeful.
Love to you, my sweet friend.

I can only imagine how hard it was to say goodbye to your beautiful Brick Street home-- in no time at all you will be in love with your new home.

Ugh-- computer woes frustrate me to no end:(

So anxious to see your new home photos--

Your trip to Disney looked like wonderful fun! My son and daughter-in-law are doing a Disney cruise again this year and want us to come along but we are not positive we will go as yet...hopefully we will be able to do it!

I'm oh-so-late to this.
I may come to you for tips on going to Disneyland with little boys. We'd like to take the two biggest boys, but have never been there ourselves.
Re the move: we're in the selling stage and I hate it! I'll have to read further to see where you're at with it!
