Monster Mail

Dear Noni,

I asked Mommy to take my picture with my monster creation. When she showed it to me, I asked her to send it to you. I love you and miss you! All my love and hugs.

To the moon and back – bigger than the sky!
Alex

I was so excited to receive this sweet e-mail from my Big Little Man.  He LOVES monsters.  And, I was very, very happy he wanted to share his beautiful little monster creation with his Noni... from miles and miles away.  Melts my heart.

Then, for just a moment, I was a bit wistful about the dark b-yue (that's blue), not light b-yue Monster Hat that had been lost before he even got his mouth sewn on at Christmas.  Oh, the struggles to create a hat that passed Big Little Man's approval!  He is very sure of the things he yikes (likes) and he doesn't yike.  Nothing wishy-washy about this Little Man.  Nothing.

To tell the truth, the Monster Hat really didn't pass the test either.  He did not like the green trim; it's all about the b-yue.  And, while his mom and I did like the green, Roo was much more willing to sport it around than Little Man.  I'm just sayin'.

Still, since we had worked so hard... his Momma diligently stitched the eyes and tooth and horns on as quickly as I could get them off the needles... it was a sad day when the Monster couldn't be found.  We had all given up on it as lost.

Same day as the Monster Mail:  Pop Pop comes in the house with a "guess what I found when I took the hay bales out of the back of my truck" shout and a wet, muddy, hay-smelling, hay-covered Monster Hat!

I'll have to admit, in that moment, I was glad Little Man had chosen an acrylic yarn!  LOL!  Now, the Monster Hat is clean and dry and will finally get his mouth this weekend then find its way to my monster lover (or his little brother).

Maybe things aren't always as lost as we think... who knows when they might pop up again!

It's so much fun when we were where the lost is found! And cute, cute hat perched on your spaghetti jar. :-) Most important is that your daughter is teaching her kids to care and communicate ! I bet this little photo text (I assume) MADE your day and more!

I think your Big Little Monster Man could use that hat about now. If he doesn't like it, perhaps a snowman would be proud to wear it!!

Best,
Bonnie

He is so adorable and cute...so is his monster creation! I remember my Seth loving monsters and spending time on the dining table making them out of clay and play-dough.
The hat is so neat. Seth would've loved that twenty years ago!

Our boys have definite ideas of what they like and don't like... A good trait for adult life.. Complicated for growing up though

Ha! I was rolling as I relived the details of getting this hat put together. No one will ever say he isn't opinionated. And if ever there's a doubt about color choice in the future, it seems safe to go with dark b-yue, dark b-yue and more dark b-yue! LOL! Looking forward to monster hat's arrival. Love you! XOXO

So sweet...I've saved every letter and card from my grandchilden...now adults, but when I go through that file, it is the best "Picker uper" in the world.

What treasures we have in these emails, cards, and pictures..

Love you big time.

You big little man is so cute and certainly has a mind of his own, eh? He sounds like an oldest child.
Have a good weekend.

What sweet, sweet words from your lovely Little Man. I know you love getting those emails.
Funny story for you: The other day, Madi, my (step) grand-daughter called. Rick answered the phone, and she said, "Hey, Grandad, is Aunt Debbie there?" Harhar! She calls us Grandad and Aunt Debbie. We all tried to get her to say Grandmom, but she reverts back to Aunt Debbie. I think it's hilarious.
Anyway, you're a great Noni!

His email and photos to you are just too sweet. So great the hat was found! I love it when that happens. I swear I go out of my mind trying to find things when they turn up missing. It's such a relief (to my family, too) when they're found!

I get all squishy and weepy whenever I get one of those emails - aren't they the best!
What is lost may well be found - a good reminder for many aspects of life.

Yay, for things found that had once been lost! Don't you love that little big man knows his own mind? He won't likely be swayed by peer pressure as he grows...
But, I do hope he reconsiders the monster hat! Hugs...donna

As usual, his little face made me smile the minute I opened the blog.

I love the b-yue monster hat, and I really (as in reallllllllly) love that last comment at the end. You have no idea how much I needed to read it this morning. Just a little piece of encouragement from a missing monster hat, of all places.
