The Lost Week...

It almost feels like we lost a week of our lives... we had the stomach bug... bad.  Really bad.

Alex was the first one down...

The our Little Roo... who had the worst case of all!  His Mom and I were at the emergency room with him after he threw up 17 times in four and a half hours... all the last being just pitiful little dry heaves.  Broke my heart.  Broke. my. heart.  It was a full week before he totally stopped.  His Mom and I had our share and his Daddy just got over  his.   Bad stuff!

Recently, I had told my son that the hardest part of being a parent (and grandparent) is to see your children/grandchildren suffer in any way... and to not be able to take that suffering from them... That never goes away...  Even as they are grown and have their very own...

Sometimes all we can do is encourage them that they can make it... that they can do whatever they need to do...

Hold their hands when they reach for us...

Love them without cease...

And pray that God keep them ever in His hands...

An unexpected joy has been realizing that not only was I happy with my decision to pea gravel my shady little backyard for my own enjoyment, but it has turned into a wonderful playground as well!!

Is this not the most precious pose... he was wanting his Mom to take a picture of him sporting Pop Pop's cap... Folded little hands... cutting his eyes ever so slightly to be sure she was getting the shot... Pure preciousness (pardon my Noni glee).

Yep, in spite of the plague, we have had a wonderful, if rough, two weeks!

Looking forward to seeing our girl grands this weekend!!  There will be candy-making at Noni's!!  I can hardly wait!!!

blessings ~ tanna
ps a special thanks to Little Momma for getting the shots of the boys with my camera while I enjoyed playing... =D

Tanna: I'm so sorry to hear that your precious family (and you) have been so ill. I know what you mean about wanting to stop any hurt or illness. Our older son, Adam, recently told me that he missed being bundled up on the family room sofa being "tended" to by me when he was sick!! I love all of the photos. Little Roo is so cute in his sweet pose. Please thank Amanda for the wonderful card. It greets me every time I sit down in the computer room. I hope all will be well now and the celebration can begin!!

Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!

Best,
Bonnie

I have so many things to say. Let's see I hate that everyone got sick and I know how you hurt for them and you can't do anything but be there and pray. They both are so cute - I love the color of their hair and how thick it is. And the poses - makes a noni proud!! I am so glad you had a nice time and have fun this weekend.

that same bug is going around the boys' school. Thankfully nobody in our home has caught it. I disinfect them when they come home to try to keep it that way! ha. Glad you are all better and still had fun times together!

Oh, Tanna! So sorry you had to spend part of your time with the little men and their parents SICK! Ick.
I love what you said on my blog about walking into your fear so that others can see your light and follow...you are so smart!
I love your light and how it shines for so many people.
And Little Roo is not so little anymore....
Love to you and yours!

Tanna...your grand boys are just so sweet and adorable. I'm so sorry that you've all been so sick - perhaps it was a good thing you were all together so you could take turns being the nurse on duty.

Your home looks so lovely too...makes me want to snuggle in and enjoy some home made cookies and a cup of hot chocolate in front of the fire. Enjoy your wee ones and all the precious memories you're making with them. Sending sweet blessings from Canada!

I feel so bad for you all....going through the plague!!
So glad that everyone is feeling better again.

Your grands are just too precious, and sweet.
What a blessing they are to you.

Have a wonderful weekend, and enjoy this wonderful Christmas season.

love,
K.

p.s. I love, love your Christmas tree... I've been trying, though un-successfully, to convince my sweet husband that we need a smaller tree. One that takes up less real estate in our cottage~~~LOL!!

Oh my goodness is your grandson ever precious!! I love the shot with his hands cupped together. So sorry to hear that y'all have been sick. There is NOTHING worse than the stomach flu! Just awful!!! I've suffered my fair share of those and so have my kids. It's hard when kids are little because they don't always make it to the facilities to get sick. Glad that y'all are better now. That last pic of your home looks so beautiful!

Such precious boys, Tanna! I know you love them to pieces. I want grandkids so much. I am so sorry you all have been sick, but thankful you are better now.

What a week that must have been. If there is an upside to it at least you were all together and the chances of anyone being sick for Christmas are very slim. Hopefully, the time spent with the girls will be trouble free and you'll have wonderful candy to share with us. Have a grand day. Blessings...Mary

So happy you guys are on the mend! Sounds like it really hit y'all hard.

A truly charming set of photographs, just a shame you have all been feeling so poorly! At least it sounds as though you have all got it out of the way before the Christmas celebrations. Yes it is so tough to watch our children suffering - sometimes we have had to be at our strongest and most supportive when our hearts have been breaking inside. But it so helps when you know that friends are praying too. Take care.

I'm so sorry you and your family were so sick! The photos are all just wonderful, that pose is just the most precious and cutest!
Have a wonderful time together!

I hate to see little ones sick so I know exactly what you are describing. My younger daughter was always so teeny. When she got sick, it always broke my heart. (Still does... admit it.) I'm so tender toward children. I guess that we all are, and that's why this weekend has been so terrible.

Your grandsons are more precious than words! I love the folded hand picture. My husband would say, "toe curling."

Oh, Noni....so sorry about the stomach crud; so much of that going around and so little control over what you can do for it.

and aren't we all hugging and holding even more tightly and tenderly these days???

glad you're on the mend....and hoping time with the girls is great!!!

Oh no...I hate this for you guys. Hope it is all over and you are feeling better. Lila and I have both had it. The boys have been spared so far.
1) That Roo picture is the most precious thing ever! Put it in a frame.
2) Your house looks like a magazine. Cottage Living might just start back publishing if they see it ;)

Tell everyone Merry Christmas and give them hugs for me.
