12:26 AM and I'm still up... (from a 4:45 AM riser)

It is way too late for me to still be awake and unable to sleep.  This does not suit my circadian rhythm.

This one is nearing the "time" and there is so much to do to get ready to go.  Being awake right now is definitely NOT productive toward getting those things done... but, I can't shut it down.  Ever have nights like those?

YES! It is 3 a.m. here!!!!! And, i don't have such a lovely excuse for being up. I'm just coughing my head off and even the dog said "find another place to stay awake please".

Can't wait to hear news of baby "A" and see photos.

Good night--I hope.

Best,
Bonnie

I most certainly do have nights like that!! They seem to be more and more often too! I just don't want the day to end. I most often turn the light off around 1-2 am and am wide awake by 6:30. I'm up a little earlier this morning to go and have catract surgery this morning!
Best,
Susan

Oh dear yes. I abide in that zone. It's frustrating. I don't have a wonderful reason for it, though, like you do.

At our season in life, we do have these nights; sometimes for months. :( Parent, kids, spouse, friend. Sometimes for bad, but in this case for something good. I sure have a hard time functioning without my regular sleep though!
You can rest later :D Hang in there.

I have had nights like those on and off. I know you can't wait for that new little one to arrive. Hope you can get some much needed rest before then. I take Melatonin every night to help me rest.

I hope you're snoozin' now... :-)

yes, often and sometimes the harder you try the worse it gets. Sometimes working at the computer can help make me drowsy again. That's right our grandbabies are due soon, yours earlier I think, we have 5-6 weeks to go. Now that our kids have moved here, this baby boy will be born at the hospital where I work! I hope all goes well, you get some rest before you go, and that you can thoroughly enjoy your grandma role!

i hate nights when you can't shut off the brain...

but what a sweet mom-to-be! good luck!

Tanna,
I hate when that happens. You anticipate such a good night's rest; the room temperature is cool, the sheets are turned back, the lighting is dim, you feel tired, and you just can't turn off the ol' brain.

i hope tonight your blessed with sleep.

I do have nights like that but I'm just too lazy to get out of bed so I lay there awake thinking. Sometimes I pull out my iphone and cruise the internet. :-)

Just had one of those two nights ago. Grabbed my phone, surfed the web in the dark, went downstairs to lie down on the sofa, ate a pop tart and tried to settle my nerves to go back to sleep! The lack of sleep stressed me out even more thinking about, "What if I go into labor?! I won't have the energy to endure!" Vicious cycle! Luckily things have calmed themselves the last couple of days. I'm back to feeling like we've got a little bit more time. ;-) Hopefully... Love you!

I don't have too many, but when I do - I hate them. You are excited for sure and I think that is what is keeping you up - with good reason.

Well, I'm a life long insomniac. So I take meds to ensure that I sleep. Otherwise, I'm a complete mess. I commiserate with you!

Well grandma, if ever there was a reason to be awake, this is it!! How exciting. Of course after the arrival you will definitely want to be at your best so I'm praying a good night's sleep for you!

Blessings, Debbie

I'm sure you are feeling a little anxious about your daughter's upcoming labor. I know I was nervous around the time my daughter-in-law due date arrived. I finally slept really well after grandson #2 arrived! The joys of being the Nonna and not the Momma..lol
Thinking of you all, and praying for a quick and easy delivery for your daughter!

Christine said...

When is her due date?
Oh.... how I know!
I will keep you and your daughter in my prayers, just like you did for me (which I was thankful and grateful for xoxo)

This happens to me sometimes as well...The staying up part is not that difficult, but it's the getting up the next morning that kicks me down...
Must be the moon or something...I couldn't go to sleep last night, so I took a melatonin. Usually take 1 mg. but was out, so I took a 3 mg. tablet...Have been sleepy all day...don't think I'll do that again...
Get some rest..You may be needing it soon...
Have a great evening...

You have to get your stuff done ......it's getting so close.
I remember the last week before Lila was born, I couldn't mow the yard (I was afraid she would call me and I wouldn't hear the phone) I finally just packed up and drove to Dallas. ha
But on the other hand I hear that very creative people (YOU) don't need much sleep!

Hey Tanna...you really should be getting your rest! I know how you feel though. Many nights I go to sleep with no trouble only to wake up after a few hours. Incredibly frustrating. Hang in there...~Ann

Oh Tanna, if only all of us "girls" could get together and have a cup of tea and chat when this happens. It would at least make it fun. Sometimes I am just soooo tired. I fall asleep and then a couple of hours later I am up! My wish for you is sweet dreams. Blessings, Catherine xoxo

I think we all have nights like that. The brain just will not allow the body to sleep until it quiets down. That inevitably happens. I hope when it does you have a long and dream free sleep. Take care. Blessings...Mary
