Vogue Wide Brimmed Hat
Just off the needles. A Vogue Wide Brimmed Hat that I first saw on Days at Buttermilk Cottage. Susan has a wonderful etsy shop and, if you are not a knitter, she has this hat available WITH a sassy red flower on the side!! Hers is gorgeous! Made me run right out and get supplies to make my own. Hers is a bargain, I might add! Susan, thank you so much for the inspiration! Love being inspired by my blog friends!!
If you knit, the pattern is available on the Vogue Knitting, here. I used Brown Sheep Co, Inc's Lambs Pride Super Wash Bulky in Combustion Grey and Finch. If I were to make it again, I would use a bit heavier yarn.
I love the big ole brim.
And the curve...
But, I have to confess. This little dragonfly is not just for looks. My brim is a bit too soft to stand on its own: reason that I would use a bit heavier yarn with the right size needles to get a stiffer outcome.
But, I like him perched on the side and it will keep my head warm tomorrow as the COLD is on its way back! I'm grateful for the warm days we have enjoyed over the weekend!
I am joining Kim at Savvy Southern Style for her Wow Us Wednesdays party. She has kindly made a place for those of us who are decoratingly challenged. ;)
Happy days to each of you...

Tanna, I love that hat and the pin makes it. I saw those at Susan's blog and may need to order one. A little warmer weather coming our way this weekend, but I am sure it will get cold again and I have very short hair.
Can I put in my order? Complete with dragonfly broach? I LOVE this hat! I think I need one! You know, to coordinate with all of Little Man's hats and all. =) Love you!
I was going to ask what you do with a knit hat to keep the brim up...then you answered the question.
Very chic!
What a gorgeous hat...and I love the dragonfly pin on it..so classy! ;D
Wow! I really love that hat. I have no talent with needles so I'm heading over to the etsy shop to take a peek. I'd really like to have a hat like this. You did a fabulous job with the hat and your pictures of it. Kudos. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary
Tanna,
LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! Thanks so much for mentioning my blog and Etsy site. Yours turned out great, and I REALLY like the dragonfly perched on the brim!
Best and Happy Knitting!
Susan
Very cool! I may still have my hat like that from the 70s. It looks like fun to make. Enjoy wearing it, and the little dragonfly adds a nice touch!
The dragonfly is perfect! You did a great job, Tanna! Only, you should have modeled it for us! You'll need again tomorrow, I hear... I'm so ready for spring!
LOVE it! Sure wish you'd model it for us. :-)
I have tried to knit and I'm not very good at it. This darling hat makes me want to try again! I love the pin as well! ;)
I can't wait to see you modeling this beautiful hat.......
The pin is perfect on it!
I LOVE the hat! And I need it. Presently it is 9 degrees. That is just absurd!!!!! I'm going over to "talk" to Susan about hats. I did look up the pattern but.....!! What I really want is one like Little Man's. The one that ties under his chin and has a pointy top--you know, the one he is so adorable in. Of course, I wouldn't be nearly so cute!!
Best,
Bonnie
Great job! Very classy addition to your wardrobe.
I liked that - very classy. sandie
You my friend is what we call 'talented'. I love seeing all the new and different things you have made. You've got the eye, the touch and the passion and it shows in your work. Love it!
Wow! That hat is awesome! And you are sooooo talented!!! My mom would love that hat! She just bought four hats this week, and she had her head shaved today since it began falling out yesterday. That hat looks so warm! Love it! Stay warm and safe!

You have a great sense of style. You know how to blend colors. You add just the right special touch to both your knitting handiworks and on canvas.
