Moving Ahead...

I appreciate so much the encouragement I received from you all on my last post.  It is amazing how generous and kind and supportive the blogging community is.  It truly warms my heart...

And, lifts my spirits... I am grateful for this strange little cyber-world we all share.  Who would have ever thought?

I've just gotten back from standing in line (not as long as it will be Monday) to pay the Old Girls property taxes.  Glad to have that chore tended.  The sun is out!  It is warming up.  We are supposed to make it to 69 or possibly 70 degrees tomorrow!  I can go for that!

The Ape Arm was dismantled yesterday afternoon... It took a good while just to unravel!  It was so big.  A whole skein of yarn plus the start of another... Maybe that should have given me a hint.  It is funny; when I know I need to rip out a substantial amount, I always have to set it aside for a day or two to work up the nerve to rip it out.  It is like adding insult to injury and I just need awhile to brace myself.  LOL.

Now, my basket is full and ready to attempt the sleeve again.  But, probably not today.

Thank you ladies from the bottom of my heart for your kind and gentle and funny and sweet words of encouragement.  You are gifts.  I am grateful.

I agree, this blogging world is so awesome, I have come to really love so many! And oh, having to undo all that work would kill me! ;D

Tanna, I just had to chuckle. When I make a knitting mistake and I know that I need to unravel, I can leave it for weeks because I am so frustrated with myself and just can't face the insult!!!

I always say, "if you're gonna knit...you gotta rip..." By the way, since your mention of the "old girls" I've gone back and read some of your earlier posts...very interesting what you're doing. Hungry to hear more!
Best,
Susan

Almost Friday. Hope that marks the end of "the week where nothing went right" and the beginning of the return to the joyful journey. 70 degrees seems like a good way to start to me! And here I was so excited that we might reach 50 on Saturday. LOL!

PS - I'm loving the new shots you've been capturing with your new lens. I can definitely tell a difference! Love you!

I never thought I'd get so involved with so many interesting, talented, caring and sharing people through blogging. I really had no idea it was possible. Now I feel involved. I worry about some of my friends when I don't hear from them for a few days. I like sharing the joys and concerns. I feel like my one pen pal from my elementary years has blossomed into many cyber pen pals that share so much.

Now, for that sweater! Great color! And, it's just an arm. This is coming from one who would have had to unravel the whole project and start over!

Best,
Bonnie

I agree, Tanna! I've met so many wonderful people through blogging. It's such a good feeling to be able to communicate this way. I feel like I have friends all around the country, and even around the world.

It's too bad you had to unravel the sleeve, but it's good to look at it as a learning experience. That is a pretty colored yarn!

I just read yesterday's post and today. I hope today's wonderful sunshine made the day better. You, my friend, are at the top of my list of reasons why I love this strange cyperspace journey. Funny you should title your blog "Keep Calm and Carry On" because your blog is where I like to go for calm...yours and Nanny's :)

Have a Great Weekend!

Tanna Dear, that's the way I feel when I sew, although it normally doesn't take a day or two to rip the sleeve out! You're knitting is so beautiful; I share your projects with Brin (my dau) when she's here. I'm so glad this art form is being revived. Enjoy the warm weekend ahead. P.S. I'm going to pay my property taxes at the last minute, as always.

I get caught up in the color and texture of that glass in those first photos...so beautiful.

As for this blog world...isn't it grand? Honestly, I would NEVER have believed in such a supportive community ON the INTERNET! But, here it is! A blessing!

I hope you got up to 70 degrees! We are expecting a MAJOR storm by Wednesday a.m. I love snow, BUT, I think I am weary of it by now.

Lovely post. You're so right. It's amazing how this blogging world can be so uplifting when the real world sometimes wants to push us down. I've been blessed to have met the most wonderful women here.

I thought I'd left a comment on this about the glass and I came back to find the answer but no comment. So here goes...are these Tiffany reproductions or the real thing? Very pretty.

i liked what my first knitting instructor said, "in knitting, when you make a mistake nothing is lost. you still have your needles, yarn and pattern. it can all be undone...unlike a recipe gone wrong."
