Looking Out My Wavy Windows...

I've been knitting away in front of a cozy fire... working on what will soon by my first finished project for 2011.  And, no, it isn't the sweater I started last week.  Something else kept crowding into my head.  I'll share more of it later.

Evan is entrenched in front of the football games.  It is playoff weekend...

I just cruised through the house and took a peak out the windows. The snow is piling up.  It really is pretty, though not much has stuck yet.  (It WAS in the high fifties yesterday, afterall.)

Of course, then I had to get my camera.  LOL!

It is supposed to get into the teens over the next couple of days.  Not my favorite weather by any stretch, but I do enjoy every season.  Snow always feels so peaceful.  It make me feel incredibly grateful to have a warm home and shelter from the cold.

There will  be no porch sitting for me today though!  Don't you just love the way the way the wavy glass looks?  I do.  Oh, yes, I do!

These Old Girls have seen many snows... and hopefully, they will see many, many more... long after I am gone from this world.  I love that, too.

Hope you are all snuggled in and finding some little source of a smile for yourself.  Stay warm and be safe...

We've got those wavy windows in our old bungalow too! I suppose, in the interest of being green, we should replace them but I'd like to just keep them. And, we have nine windows in the living room alone!! $$$$$

What we don't have is snow!

Best,
Bonnie

Bonnie, the greenest homes are the ones that are already built. You can add weather stripping to increase efficiency or in some cases add storm windows. But, most restoration experts will tell you that it will take 15+ years to recoup the cost of new windows... and, they say the new ones will do good to last that long (unless you go really high-end; then don't count on the 15 year return). I plead The Cause of the Wavy Window! LOL!

Yes, I love old wavy glass. Such character. Great shots. We are waiting for the snow here. I wish that was all that was coming, but we are supposed to have ice, too. Stay warm. Too cold for me, too.

It's snowing here too....I'm kind of happy about it because I don't have any where I need to be and I have dog food and a little food for me. So I can be snowed in for a few days. But so far...it's not sticking here...but I'm sure it will.

I love looking out my wavy glass windows too.

Can't wait to see what you are knitting.

Am anxious to hear about your new project!

LOVELY! I love to burrow in too. We have had VERY cold weather and are expecting 4" of snow on Tuesday. I hope it will be enough to get a snow day so we ALL can stay in and enjoy it!

Can't wait to hear what you are knitting.

I LOVE sitting inside all snuggle warm watching the snow outside. I'm not so much a fan of being out in the snow but I sure do love to watch it out the window.

I'm a fan of the look of the wavy window, but I'm not a fan of how much cold air seeps into our house this time of year. Yuck!

We had snow on Friday and Saturday morning and more is predicted for tomorrow and Tuesday. We'll see. We've been trying to keep warm, too, but unfortunately I just had to get out in the cold to make my weekly grocery store run sans LM - ha! At least I'm stocked up before the next snowfall. Love you! XOXOXOXO

Love your out the window pictures...just like I would favor to take. Your snow is promising, but maybe you don't want much more. We are expecting a BIG storm the next couple of days.

Hi Tanna - we're all snuggled up like bugs in a rug around here, too. Movies, breakfast for supper, and warm fuzzy socks & blankets on the couch. It's nice, and I'm giving myself permission to arrive late to work in the morning!

I love your wavy windows, too! Makes your porch and the handrails look kinda artsy!
