Trade Day Fun

I feel like it is getting time to say goodbye to fall... even though it doesn't officially end until December 20.

Yesterday morning, a beautiful carpet of golds, oranges and reds welcomed me into the yard.  God's work is amazing.  So beautiful.  So perfect.  Fills my heart with gratitude and a deep sense of appreciation.  Won't be long until all the leaves are gone and Ol' Man Winter will be comin'.

I enjoyed the last of my birthday (almost a month ago... love to make it last) celebration by meeting my dear, dear friend Barbara in Canton for the day.  We used to go almost every month to meet up, along with Amanda, and enjoy a great day of visiting.

Food has always been a big part of the fun.  Not healthy food.  Fun food.  Man, the smells are just heavenly.

Amanda, we sure missed you... had to leave a few of these on the plate.  Couldn't take up all your slack.  =)

...so that we could have room for some other taste-bud delights!  Well, I need to end my break from decorating... Christmas is on the way!  Back to it!!  Happy weekend to all!

Sounds like y'all had fun. :-) That first picture of the leaves on the ground...wow! Great shot! I love angles like that. Nicely done. We're enjoying our warm Christmas-y home tonight, too. Have fun!

I cleaned up the leaves off the front yard today right before more rain came. Getting cold here starting tomorrow. I don't like it real cold, but it does feel more like the holidays. Looks like you had some yummy unhealthy food. You go girl. Now get that decorating done!

Love the pictures.

This is one of the things I miss most about home. I miss our monthly Canton visits. I miss the conversations. I miss the sausage biscuit. I miss the twister chips (with salt and ketchup). I miss taking turns with the buggy. I miss the smells. I miss the GREAT deals. I just miss it all. I'm so glad you and Barbara got to go and partake in all of the glory and splendor and excitement that is Canton. Love you. XOXOXOXOX

PS - I haven't posted pics of the tree yet because - wouldn't you know it, I can't get very good lighting to take a good pic. I have tried twice now at different times during the day and standing at several different places in the living room. Ugh! So frustrating... Trying again tomorrow.

Now, after reading Amanda's comment, I really want to go!

Thank you so much for checking in on me. I finally posted. I thought of you so much today as I ran. It was a beautiful day and a great run. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support.

Tanna, beautiful leaf pictures. I was beginning to worry about color this fall, but it cam through! It seems like it's been especially colorful this year!

I was hoping to make it to Canton this month, but ran out of time. Glad you got to enjoy your day and your friend AND all that terrible, horrible no-good food! YUM!

I am SO glad you popped over from Vista Woman's site to visit me a moment. It was a pleasure to poke around in your own place.... I have a feeling it's a real treasure trove of good things to read and ponder.

I saw your 2010 theme of Mission: Thrive. And as this year draws to a close, I may have to 'borrow' a page from you and possibly ponder such a theme for me in 2011.

Wishing you glimpses of heaven in unexpected places..........

Your photos are BEAUTIFUL! The colors! OH!

I don't think I have wished you a proper birthday! Happy Birthday...and I will consider it ON TIME since you celebrate the whole month!

We have 16 degrees and a good covering of snow here today...I have the kettle on even as I type!
