Hospitality

hospitality (New Webster's Dictionary):  The generous reception and gracious entertainment of strangers or guests; the disposition to extend friendly treatment to guests.

I've been busy since we returned from our visit with Little Man and his folks and there are still things I want to post about our visit.  But, one of the things I most want to say is how very much I appreciate a loving welcome from my daughter and son-in-law.  And, to say that I notice and appreciate her attention to so many sweet little details.  Flowers nestled throughout the house.  My favorite candy beside the bed.  The most soft and lucious bedding to rest our heads upon.

Warmth and welcome... shelves emptied in the bathroom so that we could make ourselves at home.  Joy was indeed scattered about everywhere we looked... just for us.

Easter prizes, which Pop Pop enjoyed very much!!  All the details... all the thoughtfulness... all the love.  In our family, the definition of hospitality could be expanded to include an expression or act of love.  It is an act of service, an attention to needs, a work of caring.  Amanda makes it an art.

But, the greatest piece of hospitality is the loving welcome from this part of our family.  And, while I want my daughter to know that I deeply appreciate all her work and her attention to our needs, I most want her to know that her love is all I ever really need.  The rest is icing on the cake!  She and Jerry always make us feel special and loved.  I could not ask for more.  Thank you, my children.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It's a good thing that "my love is all you really need" because that's all I had to offer when you were here last time around. But the truth is, I want you to have the icing on the cake. And I soooo enjoyed getting to extend some real hospitality this time. I do hope that you felt joy scattered throughout. I love you. Now, won't you come back to see us soon? =D

Sweet, sweet post.
Have you made your next reservation?
I am so happy that you all had such a good time...Alex in that green hat...so cute!
It's a special feeling to stay in a loving home as a guest.

That is so sweet. It is so nice of her to make you feel special when you visit. I wish my son and dil put a little more effort into it. I think the fact that she is Italian and raised differently she just doesn't realize what needs to be done before guests come. Your grandson is just too too cute in that little hat. What a pretty family.

Ahh, what an incredible post! I mean it, absolutely beautiful! It's wonderful how you so graciously open your heart and let your feelings overflow to your loved ones. I truly felt the love.

What a gorgeous family you have! Yes indeed, I'd take that little fella any day of the week. He would love it over here at Dimples & Dragonflies. Ha ha. Seriously, what a cute little dumpling.

Now you know why I chose Children's Themed Art as my passion. There's certainly nothing sweeter than a tiny new spirit bringing such joy into this world.

Enjoyed my visit here today more than you know!

Blessings, Love and Monday Sunshine, Terri

That was so sweet - no wonder your daughter is. And her hubby. She did a great job getting ready for you too.

The room oozes love and appreciation. But, she must have learned it from someone?

Oh, this was such a sweet post! You did such a good job with your daughter. She must be just like YOU.

Your little grandson is growing so fast - I love his little Easter sweater & bunny.

Been awhile since I've been by. I thought I had you on my sidebar, but guess I didn't - I do NOW!

I did some reading backwards and I love what you're doing with all your rennovations of old homes. I've enjoyed it so much with our little farmhouse altho it was on a much smaller scale. I love the Azalea district homes - such character. They don't make 'em like that anymore!
