Sweater Vest for Baby Girl and Colors in the Queue
I've been working on a few baby gifts lately. This one is for the brand new daughter of one of my ex-tenants. It started out to be a sweater that will be featured on a Knit-A-Long at Rose Path (Okay, it bears some resemblance to that green one!).
It did morph as I went along. I told my daughter this morning that my knitting was starting to take after my cooking... the recipe is only a starting place.
I had fun changing it up to add a touch of lacework and easy to-put-on sleeves (because I have had some experience trying to coerce tiny arms into a long sleeve)! This way it will fit over a long sleeved t-shirt and will fit easily over a diaper. Plus, it could grow to a shrug/vest.
The yarn is: Berroco's Comfort DK sport weight in color 2733. I have used the Berroco Comfort yarn for Alex's (and my) first baby sweater and a Lacey Tank Dress for his friend, Lila. It is very soft... and washable. ;)
These beauties are waiting in my queue. One day they will be an entrelac hat.
Can you tell I'm really lovin' this color blue?
Our friends, Mike and Patrice gave us this favorite little bird dish. LOVE it! Gotta run. They are due for dinner in about 20 minutes! Hope everyone is battened down and safe! Wishing a good weekend to all.
Blessings ~ tanna

How cute is that!?! It's so sweet. I love the color and the colors in your queue! :)
I love that color, too, but we can't call it blue because I don't really like blue.
The little pink heart buttons are perfect for the sweater/vest.
How happy you are going to make the momma of that tiny one.
Those colors are wonderful! And the sweater is just so beautiful! I cook like that, too! ha.
Oh Tanna this is so darn cute. And I love the bird bath with the yarn! Hope you have a lovely dinner...and a lovely week.
That little blue sweater with the pink hearts and lace on the bottom is just beautiful I know they will LOVE it.
Gorgeous blue Tanna. And that bird dish is quite a treasure. Hope you enjoyed your dinner party!
Happy Weekend to you!
Precious Sweater! LOVE The Colors! Especially The Tiny Fushia Buttons! Just Precious! Love The Gorgeous Bird Dish Too! Sending You Some Love And Sweet Georgia Sunshine ~ Terri
Tanna: This piece is exquisite! I love the color, the buttons and the style. I looked up the hat you are going to make and think it will be gorgeous in those colors. Hard to imagine that soon we'll be needing such warmth. Today was sunny and 80 degrees, making me feel a little guilty for being able to enjoy it knowing the havoc on the east coast. Thanks for your concern about our children. I keep checking and rechecking the weather!! Time to try and get a little sleep.
Best,
Bonnie
Love it! It's so great that you don't have to follow a pattern for your diversion is so lovely! That blue is one of my favorite colors!
Absolutely gorgeous.
Your yarn-in-waiting is beautiful!
Beautiful baby sweater. And the colors for the entrelac hat are gorgeous. Susan

Tanna, that is just too cute. Great color. Have a wonderful week.
I love it Tanna so sweet...love the way you display your treasures...
That is so cute. I love those colors. I never follow a recipe exactly...it's too fun to "make it your own"...very cool that you are doing that with your stithing :)
Your knitting has morphed into lovlieness!
That sweater is precious~
Can't wait to see the hat!
I love the way you adapted this pattern and won't have to scooch baby arms through long sleeves!A gorgeous lace pattern & color - everything is perfect! And by the way, the addi bamboo needles are just the answer for my snowflake stockings! Thanks for the help and visit the other day at Rose Path.
That is just gorgeous, and what a pretty color too! Lucky people getting that.

Tanna, great color!! Love the pics...
Tanna you make me want to learn to knit again! That is beautiful and I'm with you on that color - it is very rich. Love the bird bowl too! Hope your family is safe in Virginia with full power.
Another WOW Tanna. I couldn't get the link to the Rose Path sweater to come up but I love what you've done with this one! So when are you going to start writing your own patterns? You have a tremendous eye and sense for what works, and obviously your skill level is superior. I'll be watching and waiting. But make sure you design a couple of simpler patterns for us novices... ;)
And the birdbath dish reminds me of an old Italian sculpture... no wonder you love it!
Blessings, Debbie

Hi Tanna, that's an exquisite little sweater...beautiful work! Love the color, too!
I'm getting caught up on my blog reading. You take such beautiful photographs! Love the baby sweater. So adorable. Great color!
That little sweater is just WAY TOO CUTE! I thoroughly believe the sign of a good knitter is someone who doesn't take patterns too seriously! I've actally done a couple of entrelac tams this summer (I'll be showing them eventually). Your's are going to be way more sophisticated than mine. I can tell by your yarn!
Best and happy knitting!
Susan
